Thursday Thoughts (2)

Lots and lots has been going on around here! Figured I’d do one quick post / brain dump of everything I’ve been doing and thinking about lately before our big vacation!

Halloween: This was Caleb’s second Halloween and it was fun! He’s honestly still too young to have known what was going on, but that didn’t stop him from having a blast trick or treating with his cousins. We were out for about an hour and were shocked that the kids made it that long (they range from 1 – 3 years). In Caleb’s mind, it was just a fun night of running up and down the sidewalk and people’s driveways. He fell a lot and laughed even more. At one point, he even walked into a parked car in someone’s driveway because his hat had slid down and covered his eyes. He was clueless as to what was going on and would often try to turn and walk away before he even got his candy and I constantly had to steer him in the right direction. He also DID NOT let go of his pumpkin flashlight or his candy bucket the entire time, even when I tried to carry it because it was getting heavy. He had the time of his life but I’m hoping he actually “gets it” next year… that’ll make it even more fun!

Vacation: Today will be my last day at work for nearly a week and a half! Tomorrow morning, I’ve got a TON of running around to do in preparation for our trip including a haircut and finishing packing. Then later, we’re headed to an indoor water park / hotel about 30 minutes away for an overnight with the family so Caleb and his two cousins can play in the park and my mom can attend a doll show. Saturday, we’ll be leaving the hotel and heading to the airport! We’ll be going to my grandma’s in Florida and staying with her, then our cruise leaves on Monday! It’s a five night cruise followed by a couple more nights at my grandma’s house. We will be coming home the following Monday. I am so, so excited because this is much needed; our last vacation was our honeymoon over three years ago. It’s also the longest I’ll have ever been away from Caleb though, so that part will be rough. Anyway, you won’t hear from me for a couple of weeks and that’s why… I’ll be setting sail, friends!

Clothes: I’m still having a lot of fun lately looking at clothes online, buying some new pieces, and thinking of how to style it all. This is honestly the first time I’ve ever had any interest in clothes before and it’s both fun and addicting. I’m considering MAYBE sharing some outfits and things when I get back from vacation. I’m really not fashionable at all, but I do have my own sense of style (it’s probably kind of boring) and maybe people would like to see how plus size girls can shop on a budget? I don’t know. We’ll see. I’m not super into photographs of myself, but it might be fun. Do you have any favorite places to shop online? Honestly, I like Target and Walmart’s websites because I think their clothes are cute and affordable. I’m also addicted to Zulily and recently placed my first order on Jane. I am also the most recent Lularoe convert and booked a party for December. Excited! Any other suggestions?

Reading: For the first time all year, I am finally on track for my Goodreads goal. WOOHOO! Party over here! Full disclosure though, I set the bar REALLY low after my reading took a nosedive last year when I became a mom and all. I used to set it for 100 every year (never reached it) and went for 20 this year. I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to reach that because I’m at 16 now… which is pretty lame for me but ya know… priorities! I am really excited to pick out my stack of books to bring on vacation too – so many possibilities! I know I am definitely going for light and fluffy reads, maybe some romance. We shall see!

Blogger Swap / Pen Pals: I mentioned last week about possibly trying to do some sort of blogger pen pal thing where we could write letters because snail mail is fun. Well, I had a small amount of interest and even some talks about turning it into some kind of small gift swap or something. We honestly aren’t sure exactly what we want to do yet, but I started a Facebook group and once we get some more people in there, I figured we could probably start up a discussion thread of what we want to do. There are no details other than that, but if you enjoy snail mail and might like to write and receive letters or small packages, let me know! I’ll friend you on Facebook then add you to the group!

That’s all I’ve got for now. I’m just a taaaad bit stressed and overwhelmed with all that needs to be done before our trip. So much work is involved in preparing for a vacation, but it will all pay off when we’re relaxing and kicking back! Bully is being dropped off to the boarder tonight, so that will be kind of sad but I know he’ll have fun.

I’ll miss all of my blog friends and can’t wait to catch up with you guys when we return!
