Whew! It’s been a crazy busy week! I’m finding that the more pregnant I get, the less I want to do ANYTHING. I just want to go to work, come home, have dinner and a little downtime with the family, then read and hit the hay. This week has kept me on my toes though! Here’s what we’ve been up to.
ONE.
Monday night we had a book club meeting with all five of us for the first time in FOREVER (my personal book club, not my work Forever YA club). Anyway, we decided to go out to dinner. We wound up having to switch restaurants because our first choice was jam packed… on a Monday. Who knew? We went to place called Mel’s and Caleb happily exclaimed “I love Mel’s!” It was nice to finally get all five of us together again. Summers are crazy and book club often pays the price. Haha.
TWO.
Tuesday was Caleb’s preschool home visit! His future teacher (one of three) stopped by for about 15 minutes after I got out of work to meet all of us and present Caleb with a t-shirt. He seemed to warm up to her and showed off his new washing machine toy. We really liked her and feel good about sending him there! He’ll be in class with his cousin Lucas. Speaking of the new toy, Caleb loves doing chores like pushing buttons on the microwave, setting the dishwasher, and taking dry laundry out of the dryer. Hey, I’m not complaining! My mom found a good deal on a toy washer/dryer after he’d been asking for one, and he’s so cute with it. Thanks, Mimi!
THREE.
Wednesday before work (my late day), my mom and I took Caleb to the library for a Bubble program. He attended it last year and loved it, and had a ball again this time. He just jumps around and chases bubbles and laughs. After, we stopped for lunch at KFC, then I turned around and headed BACK to the library for work. Ya win some, ya lose some.
FOUR.
Lots of changes for my big Caleb going on. He’s kind of started potty training this week. Since he’s at my mom’s all day during the week, she’s started putting him in underpants for some stretches of time. He’s been sitting on the toilet on occasion for a few months already, but not regularly. He’s still not doing anything on the toilet, but it’s a start. We also continued to work on his new “big boy” room last weekend. We brought up his second dresser and new toy bins, started trying to tidy up a bit, and are hoping to move him from the crib to his new bed soon. We’ve got to get him out of the nursery ASAP so the baby can have it. HA! Lastly, I’m trying to get rid of the binkie. He ONLY uses it for sleep now, but he’s way too big for it. He asks for it every night and I don’t give it to him. Jerry admitted that he snuck one to him the other night while I was walking Dakota. Sigh. This ought to be a fun few months coming up…
FIVE.
To round out my crazy week, I had my 32 week check up yesterday. Everything was good, normal, and going smoothly. Jerry grocery shopped while I did that, then I brought home some dinner. After, I prepped a crockpot meal for today and we went to bed EXTREMELY early. Me, because pregnancy insomnia has reared its ugly head, and Jerry because he gets up at 4:30 for work.
Super busy weekend ahead with an oil change and dog grooming tomorrow, then my best friend’s baby shower on Sunday! Told you it was a nutty week!
