A New Name for a New Chapter
For over a decade, I blogged as Steph the Bookworm. But just like life changes, so did this blog. When everything fell apart, I knew I needed to rebuild — not only the site itself but also the identity behind it. That’s why I’m here now as Stories by Stephanie.
The name feels truer to who I am today. Books are still a huge part of me, but I’m no longer only a “book blogger.” I’m a storyteller. And this space needed to evolve with me.
Still Under Construction
If you’ve poked around already, you might notice things look a little bare. That’s because I’m still in the middle of recovering and transferring old content from my archives.
I’ve spent months and countless late nights burning the midnight oil — transferring hundreds of posts, with hundreds still to go. Most have been rewritten, revised, and retitled. I’ve dug through old photo sites to recover images, deciding along the way which pieces of the past to leave behind and which to carry forward because they’re still part of my story.
It’s slow, detailed work, but it matters. This space has always been where I process, share, and connect — and I want the foundation to be strong, even if rebuilding takes time.
What’s Ahead
While I keep restoring the old, I’ll also be creating new. My focus going forward is simple: telling stories.
Two of the biggest features here will be my series:
- New Chapters → reflections on life after divorce, starting over, and building something new from the pieces left behind.
- One Minute Memoirs → short snapshots of everyday life. Writing them reminds me that even though life looks different now, there is still magic in the mundane.
You’ll also still find:
- Books → reviews, recent reads, and reflections on my lifelong love of reading
- Life + Essays → personal stories, memoir-style posts, and reflections on motherhood, mental health, and growth
- Goals + Everyday Life → monthly goals, updates, and the smaller snapshots that make up a life
Motherhood Now
When I first started blogging, I wasn't yet a mother. Over time though, I began to write my way through pregnancies, newborn nights, and baby milestones. Now, my boys are ten and almost seven (yeah, I can't believe it either). I’ll still be talking a lot about motherhood and our life together, but it will look a little different. There will be fewer detailed updates and fewer photos of them — because they’re no longer babies. They’re their own little people now, with their own stories to tell.
Thank You
If you’re a longtime reader, thank you for sticking with me through this transition. If you’re new, I’m so glad you’re here. This space is still a work in progress, but it’s also a work of heart — and I can’t wait to share both the old stories and the new ones with you.
