Caleb turned eight months on Tuesday! 2/3 of a year already… crazy.
I’m guessing he’s probably around 22 pounds-ish? He’s still in size four diapers and 12 month clothing, but will likely be moving on up in the next couple of weeks. This is the longest he’s stayed in any diaper or clothing size so far! It’s been about three months, so that’s impressive for him! He’s getting so big though and changing a lot. More and more, people are saying he’s looking like me now. I’m not sure. He was Jerry’s twin for the first few months but we don’t hear that much anymore. What do you think? Who does he look like?
We had a nice end of summer, but now I’m looking forward to doing all the fall firsts with him like Halloween and pumpkin picking. In the last few weeks of summer, Caleb went in his first swing and also had his first picnic at the beach / park with the family for Labor Day. He did really well and was happy as a clam since we were outside all day.
He still thinks the dog is hilarious and likes to grab his hair… we’re working on that, but he loves to grab ALL hair, including mine, so we’ll see. He’s also quite fond of his baby cousin Lucas and grabs his arm. It’s pretty darn adorable.
He still loves jumping like a crazy man in his jumper and has a newfound love too: riding in his car. Within seconds of first putting him in there, he had his hands on the wheel and was ready to go. Whenever we stop pushing it, he starts wiggling around to get it to move. He loves going on walks in there and looks like a pretty cool dude in it!
Food and sleep are just about the same as last month. He still loves food and is still on stage two. Sleep is still hit or miss. He’s been great some nights, not so great on others. I’m getting used to being tired again. Your body really learns to function on very little sleep once you become a mother!
We’re STILL waiting for teeth after all this time. I’ve thought he was teething for ohhh, the past five months or so? Yeah, still nothing! We haven’t progressed onto the next stage of foods because of that. Also, whenever we try to give him something other than the Gerber baby food, he hates it. Real applesauce? Nope. Gave him the heebie jeebies. Tiny piece of soft pretzel? Nope. Makes a face like it’s poison. We’re just going to stick with the Gerber for now!
I’ve been trying to teach him to clap or say “Mama” or “Dada,” but no real luck in those departments yet. He DID roll all the way from his back to his stomach last week though when my best friend’s mom was watching him! That was exciting since he usually goes back to side then gets stuck on his arms. Hooray!
I think that’s about all we’ve got this month! Nothing too major going on here lately. For the most part, he’s a happy little guy but he does have his moments and his meltdowns. I look forward to seeing what the next month has in store for us.
