Five on Friday (20)

Whew, I didn’t think I’d get to do a Five on Friday this week, but Caleb woke me up at 6:30 and I have some time before work, so here we are! Caleb has moved his wake up time to 6:30 now when it used to be 7:30 or 8… sucks! I get some more time in the morning now though. Anyway, happy Friday! We work weekend rotations and I’m working 8:30 – 5 tomorrow… blech! I don’t get much of a weekend this week, but the pay off is that I have a three day weekend NEXT week… I’ll take it!

ONE.

Even though I always consider September 1st to be the start of fall, I’m glad it’s OFFICIALLY fall now because I’m obsessed with the season and Halloween is my favorite. Caleb and I have started reading Halloween books, and I put up our decorations last weekend. It honestly isn’t much because Caleb just gets into everything now. I have the above two areas in my living room with a few decorations, and I also did a few in the bathroom but that’s it this year. I also have a couple of things in my office at work because I’m THAT obsessed with Halloween. HA!

TWO.

Speaking of work, I’m wrapping up week two in my new position. Things are going well so far and I’m enjoying my new role. I also went full time, which for me just meant going from working four days to five. I miss having a day off during week because the weeks feel longer and more tiring now, but I’m getting used to it. I just have to be more productive during my time off now!

THREE.

This brings me to VACATION! Jerry and I have gone on a couple of overnight trips recently, but we haven’t had a real vacation since our honeymoon (three years ago). Well, we finally booked our cruise! We’re cruising out of Florida with my grandparents in early November and Caleb will be staying with my mom. I will definitely miss him, but we really, really need a vacation and it’ll probably be our last one without Caleb. This will be our second cruise. We cruised for our honeymoon and fell in love. Have you ever cruised?

FOUR.

Let’s talk about fall TV! I have A LOT of the new shows on my DVR waiting for me. So far, I’ve only watched Kevin Can Wait, which I really liked. I’m hoping to watch some of the other new premieres this weekend. While I haven’t had a lot of TV time lately, when I have been watching, I’ve been glued to the JonBenet Ramsey specials. If you didn’t know, I’m a true crime junkie and love reading crime books and watching crime shows. I didn’t know a whole lot about the case before now and I think the family is guilty of covering something up. Anyway, what do you think about the case?

FIVE.

Tomorrow will be two weeks since we adopted Bully. He’s really a sweetheart and Caleb adores him but we are trying to get him adjusted to his new home still. He’s been peeing (possibly marking) in the house lately even though he’s housetrained. He’s also a little overbearing at times, obnoxiously climbing on and accidentally scratching people when he wants attention, and even humping guests (but not us). I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that he was never neutered. He’s going to the vet next week, so I’m planning on talking to him about these issues. Either way, we still love him and understand that all dogs, like people, have their own little quirks and annoying traits.

Well, that’s it for me this week. Hope you all have an awesome weekend!
