ONE.
We got a few furniture pieces last weekend so we can start prepping Caleb’s big boy room soon. Cue the tears, my friends… cue them right now! So far he’s gotten a big boy bed and two dressers. Disclaimer: these are primitive style, antique dressers with chippy paint – just the way I like my furniture. Am I awful for forcing my decorating style onto my son by putting this stuff in his room? Meh, who cares! I figure I’ll keep them when he’s an adult and moves out in 20 years – haha. Huge shout out to my parents for getting us these dressers as an early Christmas gift when I saw them up for sale at a primitive store! Caleb isn’t ready just yet to move out of his crib, but we’ll probably start clearing out the room he’ll be moving into and setting it up. The bed was free and we couldn’t turn it down!
TWO.
On Tuesday, I got sick at work. As in, throwing up in my wastebasket at my desk because I couldn’t make it to the bathroom. I was totally fine, then all of a sudden I got a headache and started feeling dizzy and sweaty. When I stood up to go tell my boss, I felt like I was going to pass out so I sat back down and BLECH instead. So I was out of work for half of Tuesday and all of Wednesday. Totally lame. And before you start thinking things, no, I am not pregnant. I feel like this needs to be a disclaimer when you throw up and are a woman of childbearing age! Ha!
THREE.
Being home sick on the couch is at least a great opportunity to catch up on the DVR, am I right? I binge watched the first five episodes of This Is Us, and oh my lawd… my heart! This show is as good as everyone says. I’m obsessed. Also, eeek to the decision episode of Married at First Sight from Tuesday! Dying to see what happens next week for the reunion.
FOUR.
I had lots of happy mail this week! My first two issues of A Primitive Place came in so now I can drool over primitive homes. Maybe one day, I will be in there… perhaps with my barn door wall! I also got my first ever Lularoe. I caved because I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. I got a pair of leggings and a Perfect T. I’ll try them out this weekend. I’ve already had fun looking at all the cool patterns so we’ll see. I’m still waiting on some other happy mail – two books that I won from Goodreads, some new clothes (this is what happens when you donate 7 bags of clothes), and my first month’s subscription to Diplicious. Yes, I love dip mixes so much that I signed up for a new dip subscription box. I love happy mail. Anyone want to be penpals and mail each other letters every month? I’m serious. Let me know… we could be all old-fashioned like!
FIVE.
We’ve got a full weekend ahead. I’m taking Caleb to the town’s Halloween party tonight. Then tomorrow, we’ve got to run some errands and then go to a birthday party for one of Caleb’s baby friends that he’s known since their newborn days. We’ve got lots of other little things too like getting Bully’s nails cut, grocery shopping, and a Walmart run for some last minute things we need for our vacation which we leave for NEXT SATURDAY! Ahhhh!
That’s five for now — see you in the next chapter.
