Let’s think far, far back to when we were little and had our first loose tooth. Some of us may have wiggled it right out, excited at the prospect of a visit from the Tooth Fairy. Others of us (*ahem* me, the worry wart) may have been frightened at the idea of losing a tooth, and left it alone in hopes that it would never fall out. But then the money or whatever appeared under our pillows and it was game on… a loose tooth suddenly became a fun and exciting experience (if your parents did it right, that is).
Now that Caleb is getting older, I’ve started trying to implement our own family traditions and have tried to think of clever ways to make the little occasions more special for him. There is so much fun and magic in being young and believing in all of those mystical beings like Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy.
One way to really make the Tooth Fairy come to life and create a special experience for the momentous occasion of the first lost tooth is to have some fun with this sweet and adorable Tooth Fairy Kit from Denise at Peace, Love, and Fairy Dust. Denise is a local mama and artist who spent years perfecting her kit which includes a vial of magical fairy dust, a handmade fairy wand, and a letter from the fairy herself. The letter is rolled up into a scroll and can be unraveled in the morning by your little one. Each piece of the kit is charmingly small, as one might imagine the Tooth Fairy to be, and each wand is one of a kind as they are handmade and beaded by Denise with love.
Though Caleb hasn’t lost a tooth yet, he took quite an interest in the kit and the pieces that came with it. Now, I’m getting ready to hide the kit so he’ll forget it and be surprised all over again by the time he loses his first tooth. The tiny wand is perfect for little hands and the pieces are small enough that they fit comfortably under a pillow. Denise suggests replacing their tooth overnight with the wand and letter, and then creating a trail from a window or door to their bed with the glitter dust. This will definitely help Caleb’s imagination soar as he imagines the Tooth Fairy coming in through the window and leaving him some little goodies. I think it will make him excited for future visits and will help him believe in magic… and what kid doesn’t love a little magic?
If you’re looking for the perfect way to introduce your little one to the Tooth Fairy, or for a unique baby shower gift, you should really consider grabbing a Tooth Fairy Kit over on Denise’s Etsy shop. It’s a great way to make lasting memories with your littles, and you’ll also feel good knowing that you’re supporting a fellow mama and small business owner.
Have a little fun and make a little magic!
Disclaimer: I was not paid to write this review. I received a tooth fairy kit in exchange for an honest review and was happy to support a local mama in her creative endeavors! Many thanks to my dad for the photos — he’s a photographer and Caleb had fun on this little photo shoot with his Papa!
