ONE.
If you’re a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur like me (and you should be), you’re in luck. A couple of years ago, I discovered these pudding cookies from Averie cooks and they quickly became my all time favorite cookies. They are thick, soft, and chocolately. Anyway, I recently made them for a friend who had a baby so Jerry requested I make us our own batch last weekend and yep… dangerous. I posted some photos and not one, but TWO of my blogging friends were inspired to make them the same day (hi Brandie! Hi Darlene!). Try them out if you’re in the mood for something delicious.
TWO.
Y’all already know that my aunt and I have season tickets to our local theater because I talk about it all the time, but you guys… I am so excited right now. They announced the lineup for next season and RENT is coming back! I’ve been obsessed with Rent for the last 12 years and I am so ecstatic to see it yet again (I even saw it in NYC for my birthday one year). I know every damn song by heart and I get chills whenever they first start singing “Seasons of Love.” I die. And other good news… we’re seeing Wicked again on Tuesday! That’s my second favorite musical so I am really, really looking forward to it.
THREE.
Let’s talk about movies. First, NOPE, I haven’t seen Beauty and the Beast yet. I KNOW, am I living under a rock?! However, I did recently see Arrival and I was blown away. It really made me think and I talked about it for days. It’s definitely the most beautiful and poignant “alien” movie I’ve ever seen, though I wouldn’t really call it that… not at its core, anyway. Have you seen it yet? Also, I'm working our way through the Hellraiser series (big horror movie buff). I’ve gotten through the first six with three more to go. 1,3,5 were good, and 2,4,6 sucked… seeing a trend here with the odds and evens. “WE’LL TEAR YOUR SOUL APART!” Ahem. Moving on.
FOUR.
Now let’s move onto home movies and Caleb’s budding talents. Kid is straight up obsessed with my phone. Steals it and has no idea what he’s doing but presses buttons like a boss (and yes, he has called many people). Anyway, he always winds up on the camera somehow and I have ended up with dozens of pictures and videos of his feet… in which you can always hear him cackling because he thinks he’s gotten one over on me. He’s such a stinker. Anyway, I have hundreds of other videos of him that I’VE taken and I don’t want to risk losing them. I’m considering transferring the videos from my phone onto an external hard drive. I also want to get them onto DVDs somehow so that we can watch them on our player. Anyone ever do either of these things?
FIVE.
So I’ve kind of stopped talking about the ectopic pregnancy because I’ve been doing well and thinking about it less. I even started to think I was “over it” and totally fine, but I realized I’m not because whenever I see pictures of friend’s babies or pregnancies, my heart just instantly drops and I immediately feel like I’m going to cry. It’s an awful, awful feeling because I feel so guilty. I’m happy for them but sad for me and it makes me feel like a bad person. Such a hard, transitional time to be in is all.
Well, that’s all I’ve got for this lovely Friday. No major plans this weekend except for grocery shopping and maybe dinner out.
