I’m back this week with another round of Thankful Thursday, recognizing all the little – and big – things I’ve been grateful for lately. Linking up with the marvelous Rebecca Jo.
Amazon's customer service
We have Prime, so we’re accustomed to that super speedy two day shipping. When a DVD I ordered was several days late, I gave them a call. They promptly sent out a replacement and extended our Prime for an additional month without me asking. I used to work at Wegmans so I’ve always been very appreciative of excellent customer service, and they never fail to provide it.
Doctors and medicine
I talked last week about my mysterious illness and my doctor thinks that my migraines MAY be the culprit (I’ve had them since 2007). I’d been off my prescription migraine meds since my pregnancy in 2014 but clearly needed them again. I got them refilled and am hopeful that this will eliminate the headaches and illness.
An epic nap
Last week was exhausting since I wasn’t feeling well, and Caleb and I had a three hour nap together on Saturday. Glorious, refreshing, and I didn’t get kicked too much by the octopus sleeper!
A great dinner and evening out
Saturday night, Jerry, Caleb, and I went to dinner at Mel’s, a local diner, and tried their garbage plates. Caleb really behaved and our food was great. Afterward, we picked up my mom and went and got frozen custard at the beach and took Caleb on the carousel.
Girl's dinner
My besties and our moms were long overdue for our monthly girl’s dinner (like… 3 months overdue) and we finally had it on Friday. My “other mother” made a delicious dinner and we hung around outside where Caleb ran around like a madman. Love catching up with my favorites!
DVD of Caleb videos
I got my DVD of 2015 Caleb videos in over the weekend! YAY! I love it! I know a lot of you asked about it, so: I wanted to find a way to get my phone videos onto a DVD. I did some research and ended up using this YesVideo service through the Walmart website. I transferred all my 2015 videos to an SD card and mailed it in. A few weeks later, I got my SD card back and my DVD. Overall, I am VERY happy with it and will continue to use them for all my future yearly DVDs. I loved watching these videos on my big screen TV! One minor complaint is that I had put the videos in chronological order, but they weren’t in order on the DVD.
Selling leggings
Remember how I sold a pair of my Lularoe for $78? Well, I am continuing to try and destash a bit more since I bought WAY too many leggings. I’ve sold two more so far for $52 and $43. I’ve got a few more up for sale that likely won’t go for that much, but I’m loving the extra money.
An evening out with Caleb and mom
Tuesday after work, we headed to the mall. We got Caleb some new summer clothes and grabbed some Chinese food. I also stopped at the jewelry store there where my wedding rings are from and sent them for resizing and to have them soldered together. They’re only going from a size 6.0 to 6.25, but since they’re under warranty, it’s all free. SWEET! Then we hit the grocery store (where I proceeded to buy Powerball tickets because it’s $385 mil – I hope this is in my Thankful post next week – ha!), and McDonalds for sundaes but primarily for their teeny Beanie Babies that Cal is collecting. It was a fun and productive night and I am grateful for any time spent with family.
New primitive dolls
I’m trying to not buy too many things and instead downsize a bit, but I will always be a primitive lover and can’t resist some new décor from time to time. I just got in a few dolls from my new favorite dollmaker. Aren’t they adorable?! Handmade and reasonably priced, too.
New bookshelf
If there’s anything better than a new empty bookshelf just waiting to be filled, then I want to hear it. Grateful to the hubs for putting a new, badly needed bookshelf up for me over the weekend!
Blog design help
Because I am a perfectionist, I needed some small things tweaked on my blog and luckily, I found and hired Ashley. She adjusted my default font and also changed the appearance of my links (from gray and underlined to blue and bold) because I didn’t know how. Does anyone else probably care? Nope. Do I? Yep. I’m loving these minor improvements to my blog and was happy to find someone who was easy to work with and accommodating. Hooray for blog improvements, no matter how small!
Caleb's new words
Caleb has learned some new words this week (he has a speech delay): moon, go, and yay.
Well friends, those are just some of the small things I’ve been grateful for in the last week or so. Tell me what you’ve been grateful for lately!
