Another Friday, another peek into the chaos, calm, and everything in between. Here's what’s been on my mind this week…
ONE.
I’ve been seeing a decent number of movies lately. Last weekend, I dragged Jerry to see The Shape of Water, and it was OUTSTANDING! He even liked it. It was so bizarre but so good. I also recently saw The Greatest Showman with my Girl’s Movie Club, and it’s my new favorite movie and obsession. I can’t stop listening to the music. My dad and I went to dinner and to see Downsizing on Monday. The movie wasn’t as good as I had hoped, but it was okay, and we had fun! Tonight I’m seeing Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri with my friend Angela.
TWO.
The very first word that people use to describe Caleb is “sweet.” And he is! He is my sweet, gentle boy. He’s started testing his boundaries though, and twice has “slapped” me when I said something he didn’t want to hear. He was running around like crazy over the weekend so I told him to calm down. He stopped dead in his tracks, stared me down, walked over, smacked me in the face and said “no.” Now mind you, it was super soft and didn’t hurt, but still. I don’t want him thinking it’s okay. When I scolded him, he did it again! When Jerry scolded him, he cried and threw a fit. What do ya know, the same thing happened again this week. Lawd help me.
THREE.
Next Wednesday is my birthday, but I took a week of vacation time since “Birthday Week” is beginning (Jerry, Caleb, and I all have our birthdays within one week of each other). My Wednesday night crew (we all work one night a week) decided to celebrate this week instead. I picked out my favorite Ultimate Chocolate Cake from Wegmans and they brought it in for me, as well as a beautiful card. They’re the best!
FOUR.
I am 100% not a children’s librarian. I am in adult services and I specialize in adult fiction and marketing. That said, I’ve been asked to occasionally run a Saturday Stories story time, and my first one is tomorrow. AHH! I’m both nervous and excited, as this will be my first ever story time. Send me good vibes, please. Oh, and chocolate.
FIVE.
We now have a “Staff Picks” display at work, and yours truly has her very own shelf. The books are going relatively quickly, so I have to keep replenishing. How cool is that?!
That’s five for now — see you in the next chapter.
