Get Sh*t Done: February 2019 Goals

January was an amazing month and a great kick off to the new year because for the first time EVER… I completed every single one of my goals! And not only did I complete them, I crushed a lot of them and did way better than expected. It probably helped that I set slightly less goals than usual, because I’m trying to be more realistic with what I’m capable of now that I have two little ones. Regardless, I’m really glad to have such a great start to the year but I hope I don’t set myself up to expect this every single month. HA! Check out how I did below, and then see what my February goals are!

January 2019 Goals Recap

Personal Goals

No Diet Coke: DONE! My last Diet Coke was on December 16th. I had a few cravings this month, but I ignored them and I’m proud of myself. I’ll talk more in depth about this soon in an upcoming post.
✅ Read three books: DONE! I beat this goal and completed four books, and am also in the middle of another! My reading year is off to a great start! I think one thing that helps is that I’ve been reading while exercising, so I’ve been able to get more done. I’ve also been motivated to get through my two book club books each month.

Household Goals

Purge five pieces of clothing: DONE. I actually more than doubled this goal by donating about 11-12 pieces of clothing, PLUS two pairs of old shoes I didn’t want anymore.
Goodwill drop off: DONE. I love setting goals, because on January 30th, I still hadn’t dropped these off. Despite it being frigid with the Polar Vortex, I loaded up my car and dropped them off because I wanted to get this goal done. I brought two boxes and a large bag of: baby clothes, my clothes, shoes, and some CDs. Yay for getting junk out of the house!
✅ Finish sorting through Caleb’s toys and tidy up: I wanted to get this done before he got all new stuff for his birthday, and I did. I sorted toys into bins, threw out a bunch of junk, and packed up old baby toys for Holden. Of course, he’s a four year old boy and his room is a mess again… but I tried!

Health Goals

Work out 15 times: DONE. I crushed this goal with 21 work outs this month!
Lose one pound: DONE. I doubled this goal and lost two pounds in January! I’ll be writing monthly weigh-in and health posts, so look for that soon. It’ll go into more detail about my work outs, eating habits, and weigh-ins.

Financial Goals

No credit cards: DONE! We didn’t use our cards this month, and made progress on paying them all down a bit.
Earn $25 on MTurk: DONE. I CRUSHED this goal and made around $70 “turking” this month. All of this money has been going to Caleb’s preschool tuition.
✅ Total Completed: 9 of 9. My first month ever completing ALL of my goals!

February 2019 Goals

Personal Goals

  • Read four books: For the first time since Holden was born, I’ve been able to read quite a bit again! I’d like to maintain my current pace and read another four books this month (finish the one I’m in the middle of, plus three more).
  • Finish having all our 2018 Shutterfly books made: I’d like to finish uploading all my photos and send everything in to the Make My Book service. I have just a couple more to do for 2018, then I’ll be all caught up.

Household Goals

  • Clean Holden’s room: His room needs to be organized and picked up. I need to: pick up the books, sort through the clothes, and put things away.
  • Transfer Holden to the crib: Holden sleeps in his room already, but he’s still in a bassinet, on top of a Boppy pillow. We really need to get him into his crib ASAP, sans pillow.
  • Set up a new Goodwill box and purge five more pieces of clothing: I always like to have a box going where I can put things that I’m donating to Goodwill, and since I just did a drop off, I don’t have one yet. I need to get my new box set up in the garage, then keep my momentum going by finding five more pieces of my clothing to purge and donate.

Health Goals

  • No weighing myself: At the start of the year, I decided that I would ONLY weigh in on the first of every month, but found myself on the scale WAY more often in January. That will drive anyone nuts because weight fluctuates way too much from day to day, so I can’t keep doing that to myself. I weighed myself yesterday, and cannot weigh myself again in February! My next time on the scale shouldn’t be until March 1st.
  • Work out 15 times: February is a shorter month, so I’m setting a realistic goal.
  • Lose two pounds: I’d like to maintain my pace and knock out another two pounds this month.

Financial Goals

  • Hit $290 in Caleb’s preschool fund: We have Caleb’s next tuition payment due on March 1st, so we need to save up the rest of it this month. We’ll do this by putting some money from each check in there, plus all my MTurk money.
  • Hit $350 in car repair fund: I have to do some work to my car in March, plus get my inspection. I’d like to hit $350 in that fund by the end of February. If we get our taxes back in February, this will be a breeze. If not, we’ll need to step up our savings game this month!
⭐ Priority Goal: No weighing myself!

One messy step at a time still moves you forward.
