ONE.
Caleb had his last day of preschool on Tuesday! It’s crazy how fast that went by. His first day of school was the day we brought Holden home from the hospital, so that was such a special day for various reasons. This was pre-3, so he will have another year of preschool before kindergarten. For pre-4, he’s going three days a week now instead of two, but still from 9:30-12. I’d say he had a good first year. He fought about going a lot, because he’d rather go to Mimi’s all day, but once he was there he always had fun. He would yell and try to tell me “school’s closed!”… which was pretty funny. He learned a lot though, like writing letters, weather, days of the week, etc.
TWO.
I saw Waitress: The Musical on Tuesday night and OMG… you can just call me obsessed right now. I started listening to the soundtrack a few weeks ago to prepare, so I knew all the songs ahead of time, which helped a great deal. Aside from that though, it was just SO GOOD. It was funny, sweet, unique, and the music is absolutely amazing (because Sara Bareilles… duh). I can’t get the songs out of my head and I can’t stop listening! This is easily in my top three favorite musicals now and I really hope I get the chance to see it again someday. Surprisingly, I’d never seen the movie, so I started watching it the night before but didn’t finish. I plan on finishing it this weekend though! Also cool is that yesterday, our theater quoted me on their Facebook page. Don’t worry, I won’t let the fame go to my head. 😉
THREE.
Holden turned nine months old last weekend which is crazy to me! He has such a personality. You just look at him and he smiles. He smiles at EVERYONE, and his two bottom teeth kill me. He’s a little guy, especially compared to Caleb at that age. We JUST moved him up into size four diapers and he’s still in 6-9 month clothing. He really isn’t mobile yet, but I’m not concerned because neither was Caleb. He’s just such a joy and a delight… those are honestly the best words to describe him
FOUR.
So you know how Jerry’s car died and we had to unexpectedly buy a new one? Well the hits just keep on coming, people! We had our riding lawn mower sent in a few weeks ago for what we thought would be a small repair. Well, no such luck. The repairs they’re telling us it needs would cost upwards of a thousand dollars…. so yeah, that’s a hard no from us. We’re going to just buy a push mower this weekend instead. Sigh.
FIVE.
Paw Patrol was at our local Red Wings baseball game last weekend, so we had to take the kids! Since my dad is the team photographer, we also got in early and were the first to meet them. We didn’t end up staying long because Holden started crying, but Caleb stayed with my parents. Jerry and I had to take the baby home before the game itself even started, but Caleb got to hang around for a few innings and had fun. Here’s our fancy family portrait with Paw Patrol!
And that’s all she wrote! Our plans for the weekend are pretty minimal and I hope they stay that way. We’re going to go and order a new lawn mower tomorrow, and have plans to watch a movie tonight. We’ll see if anything else pops up… but I’m hoping not!
