Hey everyone, and happy(ish) Monday! This weekend was honestly a doozy for me. It was nonstop go, go, go, and I am already looking forward to NEXT weekend, which should be a little more lowkey. Here are five things from the weekend.
Sal Vulcano stand-up comedy show
Friday evening after work, I went to see Sal Vulcano do stand-up! I LOVE him so much. He’s from the show Impractical Jokers, and also one of my celebrity boyfriends. Jerry and I saw him in 2019, but I will ALWAYS see him again anytime he’s in the area. This time, Jerry didn’t want to go, so I went and met up with some new friends who are in a local bariatric group I’m in. As expected, he was HILARIOUS. I’d say about 80% of the show was the same stuff he did last time, but I still laughed so hard my stomach hurt.
Busy Saturday at work
After my late night at the comedy show, I had to wake up bright and early to work all day Saturday. BOO. Saturdays are hit or miss… they can either be busy or dead, and this Saturday was busy. I was honestly exhausted by the time I left.
Decorating again
I’ve had a HUGE passion for home decor ever since we bought our house, but after we had Holden, I essentially stopped decorating. I used to have so much fun with it, and would change out my decor seasonally, save pictures for inspiration, etc. While he still plays around a bit with my decor, he’s much better than he used to be. This weekend, I started to tidy up and organize, and with that, was also able to put out some decor again. Right now, it’s mostly patriotic for the summer, and I’ll change it out for fall next. This weekend, I primarily decorated the living room, which is my FAVORITE room to decorate. I have always hated our kitchen, but someday in the future, I’d like to use some kitchen renovation ideas to spruce it up and then eventually do more of my decorating in there, too!
Movie and a nap
Saturday evening after my long work day, Jerry and I watched an old Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake on Netflix. If you know us, you know we LIVE for horror. I really liked it, and YES, I do unwind and relax with horror movies. Ha! On Sunday, Holden and I took a LOVELY afternoon nap. I like to nap on the weekends when I can, and after working all day Saturday, I was definitely exhausted. I don’t always fall asleep when I go to nap, but luckily, I did this time, and so did Holden.
Outing with Holden
Sunday afternoon, Jerry and I had a little outing with Holden while Caleb was out with my parents. First we stopped at Home Depot. Our water dispenser was malfunctioning a bit, so Primo replaced it for us, free of charge! We then went to Home Depot to grab a new water jug. After that, we went out to lunch. We ended up at a local diner. I had a quesadilla and Holden had mac and cheese with fries. He’s our piggy boy and ate almost the whole thing! It’s definitely nice sometimes to do one on one activities with the kids when we can, though it doesn’t happen often. We find they tend to behave better than when they’re together to egg each other on and fight. Boys will be boys, am I right?
That about sums up the weekend for us! Can’t wait until Friday now!
