Life has been stressful and busy lately, so I decided it was high time I do another Thankful Thursday so I could think about the little things that I’m grateful for lately. I’m linking up with Rebecca Jo! Here is what I’m grateful for most recently.
A mid-week day off
I worked last weekend, so I’m off today. While I normally get Fridays off in that case and have a three day weekend, I couldn’t this time because of too many vacations. I will choose to be grateful for a mid-week break instead of being miffed. HA!
Fun fall family weekends
All the F’s! The last two weekends, Jerry has indulged me in my love for fall and Halloween by going to local farms for donuts and cider. I have deemed these outings “Donut Quest 2017.” This weekend will include more of the same! Basically, every weekend from now through Halloween will be stuffed to the brim with fall and Halloween themed activities. YESSS! This is what I live for.
Dogs getting along
I’m so grateful that for the most part, Dakota and Ruffles are getting along. In fact, Dakota even tried to engage her in play recently, which is a rare sight these days since my boy is now 10!
Inspiring work conference
I went to a social media conference for work last week and I really enjoyed it. I felt like I was amongst my people, you know? Plus, it was held at this amazing place in my city called The George Eastman House and Museum. Eastman created Kodak and his home (mansion) is open for tours and a museum and conference rooms and theaters have all been added over the years. I hadn’t been there since my childhood, and the place itself is inspiring and beautiful. On my lunch break, I walked through the photo gallery and was in awe of the current exhibit.
New Halloween warmers and decor
If you know me, you know by now that I live for Halloween and fall. I’m also obsessed with wax warming. I FINALLY found some much coveted Halloween warmers from Walmart that I’d been looking for. I also picked up a couple of other Halloween warmers at other places. Just yesterday, Jerry told me the house smelled great – “like fall.” I’ve also picked up a few really cute new decorations at the Dollar Tree recently!
Work visitors
I had some special visitors this week! I worked Saturday, and Jerry and Caleb stopped by to see me after going to the playground that’s on the town campus. Then on Tuesday, my cousin came in for book club. She was sweet enough to bring me some flowers from her garden and some adorable primitive decor!
My Aldi reopening
This sounds strange, but my store has been closed for a few weeks for remodeling. We’ve been going to the other one in town, but it’s just not the same! They are reopening today and sent out coupons too. YAY. I am a creature of habit, if you didn’t know.
Minimal hurricane damage for my grandparents
My grandparents live in Florida and luckily, escaped the hurricane nearly unscathed. Thank God. My grandma is one of my best friends and biggest supporters. I couldn’t imagine if anything had happened to them or their home.
Certification renewal
I renewed my state public librarian certificate yesterday and it could not have been easier! It literally took me two minutes. Now I’m set until 2023 (though I will need to continue taking a total of 60 hours of continuing ed every five year period… easy peasy).
