We had our gender reveal last night and are excited to finally be able to announce…
It’s a boy!!!
We had my immediate family over last night for a very small gender reveal gathering. We did a balloon release to announce the gender, but we also had blue filled cupcakes and blue and pink snacks. It was also very important to have my dad (a photographer) take some announcement pictures to show the rest of our family and friends. Now we can finally prepare more with boy clothes and decor for the nursery! We already chose the nursery theme, so I will definitely share that with you all later on. For now, we will also tell you his name…
Caleb Manuel
This name was SO hard to come up with. We had a girl name picked out from the get go, but struggled with the boy name for MONTHS! He wanted Aiden and I wanted Declan, but we did not like each other’s choices. Jerry tends to like the more mainstream, popular names whereas I like more unique, less common names. After one night of texting for probably an hour, dozens and dozens of names back and forth (and this was not the first time), I called him and said “what about Callum?” He said “that sounds like Caleb.” Well, he didn’t like Callum, but we both kind of went “hmmm….” when he made the Caleb comment and finally both fell in love with it. Manuel, his middle name, is the name of Jerry’s father. We chose this as his middle name so that we could honor his and Jerry's Mexican heritage. So, that’s how his name came to be. It was stressful, but we are so happy with it now.
