I’ve been seeing this floating around the ol’ blogosphere for awhile and finally decided to join in on the fun.
Excited… for a three day weekend and a half day today! Jerry is also getting out early, so the three of us are going out for a family dinner tonight, a rare treat on weekdays with Jerry’s normal evening work schedule. Also excited for some frozen yogurt. Mmmm.
Feeling… relieved for some down time this weekend. It’s been a busy week with a lot of late nights and not enough time with my baby. Monday night I ran our writer’s program at work, Tuesday night I worked my usual evening shift, and Wednesday I had a book club meeting / movie outing.
Enjoying… monthly girl’s nights with my mom, two best friends, and my best friend’s mom. We started this tradition a few months ago where we have dinner once a month and we rotate who hosts and cooks each month. Everyone brings something like an appetizer or dessert so we enjoy a nice meal, chat, laugh, and have fun. We had our June dinner last week and had to teach the mothers how to use Snapchat… oh Lawd!
Hoping… for some good news in the coming weeks about something I’ve been wanting and working towards for quite awhile now.
Saving… for our upcoming cruise in November (yay!) and Dakota’s annual vet visit next week (nay!). He has to get his shots AND we have to talk about his chronic ear infections and find a new solution since he’s had one for months now that isn’t responding to treatment. Ugh.
Thinking… about Me Before You, which I finally saw on Wednesday. I think the movie was even sadder for me than the book. It was amazing and breathtaking, but my stomach also kind of hurt when I left because it was just so heartbreaking.
Listening… to this song I just discovered called "Slow Down" by Nichole Nordeman. It’s a crazy emotional song about motherhood and it makes me cry like a baby every single time I listen to it and think about my baby boy. It’s so meaningful and beautiful and it hurts my heart. I strongly urge you to give it a listen… but also be prepared to cry.
Reading… fiction again! I’ll be blogging more about this later, but I’ve been reading A LOT of nonfiction since Caleb was born even though fiction is my number one. I’m excited to be back into a fiction groove!
