Happy Friday, friends! I’m off work today because I worked last weekend and this break is MUCH NEEDED. The last couple of weeks have been madness for me, so I figured I’d share some of what we’ve been up to here. Also, I’ve been doing well being back on track with my weight loss and have lost a few pounds already. Went a little off track this week due to Halloween and the aftermath (candy! desserts!), but I don’t regret it and knew it’d happen ahead of time. Need to live a little, right? Onward!
ONE.
Caleb’s swim class finally ended on Monday and all I have to say is “hallelujah!” I hated having to swim and Caleb hated me having to hold onto him, so neither of us enjoyed it much. One good thing is that two ladies I’m friends with also took it with their little ones, so that was nice. On another note, he started soccer last night with his cousin. He didn’t really follow directions but he hadn’t napped at all. Hopefully next week is better.
TWO.
Halloween! I won a contest from our local baseball team where their mascot (Spikes) came to my house and trick or treated with Caleb and my nephews. It was SO cool. All of our neighbors were shocked to see him and took pictures with him. Other than that, Halloween didn’t go quite as planned. Jerry finally had the night off from work (he’s had to work all the other Halloweens since Caleb has been born) and we were so excited, but Caleb was an absolute stinker. He refused to nap that day and was majorly crabby. My dad managed to get about one or two cute photos of him with Spikes, though!
THREE.
My aunt and I saw The Little Mermaid last week with our season passes to the local theater. It was pretty good but we weren’t blown away by it. It wasn’t one of our favorites. Our next show will be Fun Home, which we’ve never seen, so I’m looking forward to it.
FOUR.
If you know me, you know that I’m a Halloween addict. I decided to start a Halloween village this year (like the mini Christmas villages but for Halloween). I’ve gotten a few pieces so far and am really looking forward to growing my village over the years. Jerry is enjoying it too, so I think this will be a fun hobby for us to do together!
FIVE.
Jerry and I finally made it to the haunted hayride last weekend, right in the nick of time before Halloween! They never really scare me, but I just have a blast and think they’re so much fun. We went with a friend of his from work and got there early enough that we were in and out without much of a wait. This hayride had a walk through portion which was circus themed and really cool. I’m so sad that the Halloween season is officially over and I’m already looking forward to next year… with hopes that Caleb will be much better behaved! We had to leave a couple of Halloween events early this year because he was crabby then, too. Sigh. Toddlers, man.
That’s all I’ve got for this week! What are your weekend plans? Tonight, we’re going to the little water park hotel that we go to with my family twice a year. The kids have a blast in the water park and the adults have fun going to dinner and hanging out at the hotel after the water park. My mom also enjoys going to her doll show, which is the reason we go (they host it twice a year at the hotel). Tell me about your weekend plans and how your Halloween was!
