I recently went to one of our Friends of the Library book sales. For those who are new around here, I’m actually a librarian and I love supporting our Friends group! Friends groups are run by volunteers and they raise money for the library. Our group runs 3 big book sales a year and they have a used book store in our lobby that’s open every day. They’re amazing and fund many of our programs. Anyway, on the last day of each sale, they have a bag sale where you can fill a bag for $3.00. You can bring any bag and they don’t care how big it is… they just want to get rid of as many books as possible so they have less to pack back up. I brought a huge bag and managed to get 47 books in there for only $3.00! Since that’s a crap ton of books, I’m breaking this down into several haul posts.
Today, I’m featuring the YA books I picked up at the sale. Some are library discards, but who cares? I read library books constantly. None of these are books that I’ve read yet either, and I’m always happy to find new books to read (as if I need any more. Ever).
Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon: A girl has a rare disease and is unable to leave her house because almost everything makes her sick. Then she sees a handsome new guy move in next door… but how can you find love when you can’t leave?
Paper Towns by John Green: I like John Green and haven’t read this one yet. Sounds like it’s about a guy and his neighbor / unrequited love and she disappears but leaves clues for him. Am I right? The description isn’t super telling, but I’m intrigued!
This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen: I’ve long been a fan of Sarah Dessen, but I’m pretty sure I haven’t read this one yet. She writes YA romances that are really well written and tend to be serious.
The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen: Another one of hers I haven’t read yet, and another YA romance.
Amity by Micol Ostow: This one has been on my TBR for awhile because I LOVE horror, so I was excited to pick up my own copy. This one’s about Amity, a haunted house, and what happens to the people who move in. It’s inspired by a true story and is right up my alley.
A Field Guide for Heartbreakers by Kristen Tracy: Two best friends travel to Europe. Sounds cute and fun!
Let’s Get Lost by Sarra Manning: Looks like an interesting one about the mean girl at school and some of her dark, sad secrets. She meets a guy who may help her get past it.
So which ones of these have you read? Do any of them interest you at all?
