Get Sh*t Done: January 2021 Goals

Happy, happy 2021, everybody! Holy freaking cow, can you believe it?! There is no way this year can be worse than last year, right?! New year and new month means… new goals! Let’s see how I did in December before we dive in to January!

December 2020 Goals Recap

❌ Read four Christmas books: FAIL. I read two.
Watch 12 Christmas movies: FAIL. UGH! I watched 11 in December! So dang close, man! I really loved watching all my Hallmark movies though, and can’t wait until next year.
Clean our bedroom: DONE. Well… our room isn’t quite done, but I made HUGE progress in there during my holiday staycation, so I’m calling it a win.
Clean out the kid’s rooms again: DONE. My mom came over again (deja vu from my October staycation) to help with the kid’s rooms. These boys cannot keep their rooms clean.
Hit 1000 SV for my Pink Zebra business: DONE. I almost hit 2,000! December is a traditionally slow month for direct sales businesses, so I actually shocked myself.
❌ Complete my three “end of year” wrap up blog posts: FAIL. This totally escaped me because I did hardly any blogging during my staycation. These will get done either this week or next.
Make a gingerbread house with Jerry and the kids: DONE. It was messy, and it toppled over immediately, but we did it! We used a kit from Aldi.
Finish watching Holiday Baking Championship: DONE! I just love this show.
Finish watching Holiday Wars: DONE! I like this show too, but not as much as Baking Championship, and definitely not as much as Halloween Wars. A local baker was on Holiday Wars this season though, so that was cool!
❌ Make a pie for Christmas: FAIL. Jerry ended up using my leftover pecans for his snickerdoodles, so I didn’t make another pecan pie. We had plenty of other desserts though.
❌ Make at least two dips for Christmas: FAIL. I only made the buffalo chicken dip, and not a second cold dip, but oh well. We had tons of food anyway.
Enjoy our strange new Christmas: DONE. It was fun! We only spent time with my parents and brother’s family, so it was smaller than usual, but due to being a major introvert, it was better for me. I missed my extended family, but large gatherings just make me uncomfortable.
✅ Total Completed: 7 of 11. Better than I thought. I'll take it!

January 2021 Goals

  • Read three books
  • Hit 2000 SV for Pink Zebra
  • Complete my three “end of year” wrap up blog posts: rollover goal. These are very time consuming but rewarding.
  • Watch one movie with Jerry
  • Create a spreadsheet for tracking extra income: I have many side hustles in which I earn an extra income aside from my full time job. Pink Zebra, my blog, survey sites. I want to come up with a better way to track this income. I started tracking it last year, but fell off the wagon. It was not a good system, either.
  • Finish watching Love After Lockup
  • Finish watching Bly Manor
  • Finish cleaning our room: I know I marked the goal as complete up above, but that’s because I did A LOT of work. However, I need to do a few finishing touches.
  • Set up my new system for storing my PZ wax Sprinkles: this is the wax from Pink Zebra, and my stash is very unorganized. I purchased some new shelves, and asked for more for my birthday this month. Hoping to get this project complete this month!
  • Put together and sort shelves in garage: I bought some shelves for the garage so I could get more organized. I also asked for more for my birthday! This is a huge goal for the year… get myself, my house, my belongings, and my business organized. I want to assemble my shelves, and start organizing my stuff onto them!
  • Do two manicures: I just got into nail strips, and am also getting back into nail polish too. I want to do my nails twice this month! I currently have a cute strip set on, so when this one starts to chip, I need to NOT procrastinate, and get to work at applying a new one!
  • Do something fun on Caleb’s birthday!
January is a hectic month for us because of the holidays, and then Jerry, Caleb, and myself all have birthdays in January. I’m not entirely sure how we’ll be celebrating yet, but I’m sure we’ll have fun. I tried to set mostly fun goals because this world is not very fun right now, and we deserve to have a little fun for our birthday month!

One messy step at a time still moves you forward.
