Hello! Today I am back with another round of Hallmark Christmas movie reviews! I have three more for you that I’ve watched over the last week. These are Hallmark movies number 12 – 14 for me for the year, and I still have plans to watch several more before the year is through. What can I say? I’m addicted. Let’s get right to it.
Christmas With the Darlings
This was a good one! A wealthy businessman and a woman who works for his company must come together at Christmas to take care of his orphaned nieces and nephew. As you might expect, sparks do fly. I liked the grand home with its extravagant entry doors, I loved the kids and their sibling bond, and I loved the lead characters. The acting was well done, and I found the chemistry to be realistic. While it didn’t have that small town feel that I usually love, it was still a good one with a sweet story. 3/5
A Nashville Christmas Carol
I’m a country music fanatic, so I think it’s a given that I loved this one! It’s a modern retelling of A Christmas Carol set in Nashville, featuring a TV producer and her “one that got away.” Her heart was broken by her childhood best friend when he chose his career over her, so she has since thrown herself into her career, too. When the spirits of Christmas allow her to see things she never saw before, she starts to question her choices and see the past in a different light. This one featured great country music and a really good cast, including several well known country artists, like Wynonna and Sara Evans. I also really liked the two lead actors, and found their love story to be realistic and sweet. 4.5/5
A Christmas Tree Grows in Colorado
This was cute! A woman planning her town’s tree lighting ceremony must win over a local firefighter so that she can convince him to give up a beautiful tree from his property for the big event. The man is a single father of an adopted daughter, and the woman is a teacher turned politician to please her father, the mayor. Lots of lessons in this one about family and the decisions we make. It was a sweet story, and the romance was convincing instead of super corny. However, I myself was with the firefighter on this one… why would you let someone chop down a huge, gorgeous tree from your yard?! That kind of impacted my rating here. 3/5
