Hey everyone and happy June! Almost summer time… blah. I don’t necessarily hate summer, it’s just that I hate hot weather, so I kind of hate summer by default. HOWEVER, Caleb is now in kindergarten, so summer is looking good again because schooooool’s out for the summer at the end of the month, and I am looking forward to him NOT being there all day.
Anyway. Time for the goals.
May 2021 Goals Recap
❌ Clean Caleb’s room: Nope.
❌ Buy Caleb a keyboard: Nope, but soon!
❌ Watch Dave Not Coming Back documentary: Nope!
❌ Watch I Still Believe movie: No.
❌ No credit cards: Almost! I did great this month actually, but I did use one card to register for Pink Zebra reunion (I’m “going” virtually). It wasn’t a ton, and I think it’s a good investment anyway. Not kicking myself over it, because it was just one use and it was spent wisely, not on mindless stuff.
✅ Go to waffle restaurant: DONE. My parents and I took Caleb one night for dessert waffles and we liked it a lot!
❌ Finish two books: Not quite.
✅ Find a dresser: DONE. I am calling this done because I actually found a dresser and had arranged for pick up, but Jerry didn’t want to get it. He wanted to try and keep the old dresser. Sigh. My mom half-fixed it one day, so we’ll have to see if Jerry / my dad can fully fix it.
❌ Clean dining room table: Sigh. Nope.
❌ 2500 SV for Pink Zebra: Nope. Only got slightly over 1,000. This was actually my worst month ever since starting. I’ve heard that warm weather months are tough though for this kind of business, so hopefully that’s why?
✅ Send out samples and rewards: Done, for now… ish? Guess this wasn’t really a good goal because it’s not really concrete. I have an ever-revolving list of samples to send out.
✅ Figure out Pirate Ship: DONE! It’s as easy and as great as everyone says.
✅ Update loyalty cards: DONE, and that’s because I decided to do away with my loyalty program (for my Pink Zebra) as it was. I’d been thinking about it for awhile because it was impossible for me to keep up with. I decided to simplify it and I think it will be a huge weight off my shoulders.
❌ Organize my Cartons (wax Sprinkles): Nope.
✅ Get cleared by the nutritionist: DONE! Man oh man. This day was like Christmas after I dealt with the nutritionist from hell last year. I thought for so long that I would never get clearance and that it would hold me back from surgery forever. Another huge weight off my shoulders.
✅ Pack up a return: DONE, and in a strange way. I had these huge Christmas caroler dolls to ship back as a return since March, but I could not find a box large enough (hence the “since March” thing). I finally contacted the company and asked if they could send me a box large enough. They told me “you can just get rid of the dolls and we will send the refund anyway.” HA! What is this?! Yet ANOTHER huge weight off my shoulders in May?! OKAY!
✅ Defensive driving: DONE! Have to do this six hour online course every three years for an insurance discount. So boring, but it’s done. Now I’m doing Jerry’s lol.
❌ Buy shoe rack for foyer: Nope.
✅ Total Completed: 8 of 18. Okay. Not great, but okay.
June 2021 Goals
- Clean Caleb’s room: rollover goal
- Buy Caleb a keyboard: rollover goal
- Clean dining room table: rollover goal
- Organize my Cartons (wax Sprinkles): rollover goal
- Clean Holden’s room: why? Because the kids destroy their rooms every time they get cleaned!
- Sort Holden’s Clothes: lots of hand-me-downs from Caleb that I need to sort now that Holden has moved up from 2T to 3 and 4.
- Order Holden’s summer clothes (if needed): while sorting for size, I also need to pull out summer clothes. I don’t even KNOW if I have summer clothes in the right sizes, so if it turns out I don’t, then I need to get him some summer clothes STAT!
- Launch new loyalty program: I have to finish making NEW loyalty cards and transferring some things over from my old program, then get it going.
- 2000 SV for PZ: hoping this month is better than last!
- Finish Jerry’s defensive driving: listen, I knew he wouldn’t do it, and I want the discount, so whatever, I’m doing it for him and I already started LOL.
- No credit cards: this will be a goal every month, most likely. It’s a good goal to have!
- Finish two books: another monthly goal!
...aaand, I think I’ll stop there. I could keep going, but let’s not. I usually like to add fun goals, like shows and movies I want to watch, but I should probably learn to be more laid back and easy going. I’ve never been one to go with the flow (could you tell? LOL), but I have a busy month, so I think I should chill out on more goals since I’m already at 12! I’m working two Saturdays this month, Caleb’s finishing kindergarten, and I also have my next bariatric appointment… this time, I’m meeting my surgeon! Wish me luck! Hope you all have a great June with some good goals to work on.
One messy step at a time still moves you forward.
