Well look who finally showed up for a month in review really freaking late?! Life has been hectic and crazy, but I am finally here to recap May! Here we go:
Happenings and Tidbits
- I had to work one Saturday, but ended up leaving early due to the migraine from hell. It refused to subside no matter what I did, so I finally relented and went to Urgent Care that evening. I have NEVER gone to a hospital or Urgent Care for a migraine, but I couldn’t take it anymore! They gave me a shot of Toradol and it worked in about 15 minutes. What a relief! Anyway, Jerry cooked me a Mother’s Day dinner that night, and I was finally able to enjoy it.
- The next day was actually Mother’s Day, but I had to prep for a colonoscopy, hence the early dinner the day before. It wasn’t fun by any means, but it also wasn’t as horrible as I expected. The worst part was actually the taste of the liquid I had to drink, Clenpiq.
- The following day, I went to the hospital for the colonoscopy and endoscopy (for my upcoming surgery). Fast, painless, easy! I worried way too much. I went and got a turkey meal from Critic’s after because I was starving. Yummm.
- I had my second phone appointment with the nutritionist and I got cleared! As you all know, my nutritionist in my original program was horrific, so finally getting clearance was a massive weight off my shoulders and such an amazing feeling of relief.
- We celebrated Memorial Day at my brother’s house. He had a tent set up in his yard from my nephew’s birthday, so we hung out outside and the kids played. We had a cookout / garbage plates (a local “delicacy”). I think Memorial Day means it’s officially cookout season now!
- Tried out a new-ish waffle restaurant with my parents and Caleb. We got waffle desserts. Yum!
- Caleb willingly read some books to Holden at bedtime and it was the cutest thing ever. Melted my librarian heart immediately.
- Caleb also started creating some of his own wax blends which we sold in my Pink Zebra group. They were a hit!
- Speaking of PZ, I promoted to manager at the end of the month! It was a wild ride in May with my sponsor Jenny, and we had a heck of a time. We busted our butts all month and both got promoted.
- My dad celebrated his 60th birthday!
- I finally watched season two of Unsolved Mysteries. It was decent but not as great as the first.
- The dog finally got groomed. He was much overdue for a haircut!
- I had brunch at Blue Barn Cidery with my Forever YA book club! This is the one I run through work, and we’ve been on hiatus since COVID. We all missed each other though, so we arranged this on our own, separate from my job. It was nice to see everyone and catch up a little until we can officially resume our meetings.
- I freaking RAN OUT OF GAS for the first in my entire life when I was within actual walking distance of both my work and a gas station. How freaking stupid! I didn’t have a gas can, so my dad came and bailed me out. Hahaha. DUMB.
And that'll do it for the month!
