Thankful Thursday (3)

I’m linking up with Rebecca Jo for another round of Thankful Thursday, where I think about all the little things I’ve been grateful for in the last week!

Lunch outside

Last Thursday was our first really warm day. I went next door to Tim Hortons for lunch on my break and ate outside. Glorious! I didn’t want to go back to work.

A good Saturday at work

I was the librarian in charge on Saturday and luckily, the whole day ran smoothly. Until we accidentally set the alarm off on our way out and the cops showed up. Hey, ya win some, ya lose some… right?

Jerry cooking my favorite dinner

After I worked all day Saturday, I came home to delicious homemade Alfredo (my favorite meal) from Jerry! Even Caleb loved it.

Smashing debt

We had some wiggle room in the budget last week that allowed us to pay a little over $150 on our credit card in one week. Chugging away at it… Don’t you love weeks when there is actually wiggle room in the budget?! It’s a rare but beautiful thing!

Family breakfast

The three of us went to breakfast on Sunday. Caleb behaved and ate well and the owner was so sweet. She’s an old Greek lady who gave us all hugs even though we’d never been there before. Too cute!

Lucas' baptism

My nephew, Lucas, got baptized over the weekend and I’m proud to be his godmother!

New doll

Most of you already know that I love primitive and country decor. One of the things I collect is prim dolls. I just got this handmade doll in the mail! I ordered it from a lady in a prim group on Facebook. Isn’t she cute?! Now I just need to find somewhere to put her.

Candy in the mail

One of my coworkers from another building sent me some paperwork through inter-company mail and included some chocolates, like always. A sweet surprise! Nice to know someone is thinking of you.

An "off desk"day at work

Usually, we get one “off desk” day a week at work, meaning… not on the public information desk, and in your office for the whole day (our day is usually split in half between the two). In the last few weeks, I haven’t had ANY because of sick call-ins, vacations, etc. Well, I finally got an off desk day on Tuesday and was able to catch up on so much work! It’s always nice to have a little break from the public too.

"Sweet" friends and (almost) front row at the theater

My aunt, our friend Ania, and I saw Cabaret on Tuesday as part of our theater subscription. I’ll get more into the actual musical tomorrow, but for now I’m grateful for our sweet friend Ania who bought me a cookie and surprised me with it at the theater! Of course, I am so incredibly grateful to my aunt for our season tickets every year in the second row. I’m spoiled!

Reader's Advisory win at work

I helped a patron discover a new book series a few weeks ago. While I haven’t read it, I chose it based on her preferences (the Elm Creek Quilt series by Jennifer Chiaverini). Well, she’s been coming back every week and ordering more from the series, so I guess she likes it! Reader’s Advisory win! I love it when my job feels rewarding like that.

Discount codes for TV

We just switched to Dish for TV and because my aunt referred us, we both get $5.00 a month off our bills for the next 10 months. Score!

Household help from Mom

When my mom was watching Caleb at my house this week, she cleaned his room and folded laundry. We will gladly accept all the help we can get! It’s so hard to keep up with us both working FT and on opposite schedules to boot.

Good vibes at work

I had a review that went really well and I’m running a small meeting at work today. I’m grateful that my supervisors are confident in me!

New dip

You know those subscription boxes you can get for beauty products or books or anything? Well I subscribe to a monthly dip club, ever since they started last year. Once a month, I get a package in the mail with 3-4 surprise dips or products. I was happy to get home from my late night at work last night to my newest package. Jerry and I eat dip about every weekend now. It’s my favorite!

Three day weekend incoming

I’m off work tomorrow – woohoo! Jerry and I both took off for a little family getaway (more details tomorrow, don’t want to repeat myself).

Caleb sleeping better

Caleb’s been sick and hasn’t slept well in two weeks. What does that mean? Jerry and I aren’t sleeping well either and have been exhausted. Well I am happy to say that Caleb finally slept through the night last night. Let’s hope this streak of horrible sleeping has come to an end! He’s usually such a fantastic sleeper and easy to put down, so this has been rough.

Those are the little things I’m grateful for this week! I’ll go more into detail about some of these in my Five on Friday post tomorrow!
