Baby #2 Bumpdate: 18 - 19 Weeks

18 weeks
I’m only going to do bumpdates every week from here on out. They aren’t the most exciting to read or write, but I still want to make sure I chronicle this pregnancy, so I thought this would be a good compromise.

Symptoms: I honestly feel pretty good still, for the most part. I woke up really dizzy on Thursday and it lasted most of the day, but luckily it went away the next day. I’ve also had a couple instances of back pain in the last couple of weeks, but otherwise I’ve been good!

Sleep: Pregnancy insomnia has kicked back in, and I’ve been sleeping terribly the past couple of days.

Diet/Cravings: I’ve been crazy about Chicken French lately. Jerry and I have gone and gotten it the last two Saturdays at Bella Pasta, but I still want more! Mmmm! When I go out for Italian, I almost always get alfredo and pass on chicken, but this is all I want lately.

Exercise: I’ve gotten to the gym five times over the past two weeks. I went two times last week and three times this week. I work out for 35 minutes. I did the elliptical most of the time, but switched it back up to the treadmill today.

Good Moments:
  • Small baby kicks! His moves are still very inconsistent and infrequent, but they’re very definite. When we saw Truth or Dare last weekend, he also gave a big kick during a loud part.
  • Jerry went on a cleaning rampage yesterday and cleaned out the spare room, which is where Caleb is moving into so the baby can have the nursery. It was packed to the brim with crap and he cleared it all out and moved in Caleb’s toys (yay for less clutter in the living room!). He also set up his new big boy bed. He’s been playing in there all weekend and we will gradually move over his clothes and the rest of his things and start to clear out the nursey.
  • We also unburied all of Caleb’s baby clothes which were in the spare room but packed up in the corner where it was hard to get to. Now I’ll be able to start sorting through it and determining what I want to keep for the baby and what I want to get rid of.
  • We finally got some nice weather and won’t be quite so housebound!

Bad Moments: Bad news about the new room for Caleb? We think there’s a patch of mold, so he can’t sleep in there yet. I don’t think he’s quite ready for the bed yet, so that’s okay. We’re getting it looked at on Wednesday. Fingers crossed it’s not mold, and if it is, that it won’t be crazy expensive to have it removed.

Looking Forward To:
  • My doctor’s appointment tomorrow. It’s my “20 week” check up, even though I’ll only be 19+1.
  • Scheduling my anatomy scan so we can check and make sure baby boy is okay and also see him again!
  • Starting to sort through baby clothes.
  • Getting the mold issue sorted.
  • Continuing to gradually move Caleb and his stuff over to the new “big boy” room so we can prep the nursery.

Comparisons: Here are my 18 week and 19 week bumpdates with Caleb. I reported feeling pretty good with Caleb, too. During week 19, I had some major back pain, but I don’t have that this time… just a few minor back aches here and there and that’s about it.
