Happy Friday finally! It’s been a WEEK (although I feel like I’m always saying that these days). Nothing too crazy in particular, just the general craziness of working and having two little fellas and a house to take care of. Here’s what we’ve been up to lately.
ONE.
Last week was also A WEEK. My parents (aka babysitters) were in Florida, so I ended up taking three days off work since we didn’t have our normal “Mimi Daycare,” and my Aunt Nikki filled in on the other days for us (thank you!). It was nice to spend the extra time with my boys and take Caleb to/from preschool (my sister in law usually does), but it was also HECTIC. I thought I’d have time to get so much done but I didn’t. I think that being at work is actually MORE relaxing and less demanding sometimes than the kids are!
TWO.
I also took off this Tuesday because Caleb had a preschool field trip to the planetarium. When he started preschool, I made a vow to myself that I would never miss a field trip and I haven’t so far! The show was geared toward 3/4 year olds, so it was a little boring for the parents, but Caleb really seemed to love it! He sat in his seat and played along when they were asked to point to the sun, use their magical invisible watches, etc. It makes me think maybe it’s just about time soon to take him to see his first movie in theaters. Hmm.
THREE.
Our Friends of the Library host 3 book sales a year, and I haven’t been going to them lately because I have SO MANY books. I’ve always loved them though and they feel like holidays to me. I caved last weekend and went to the $3/bag sale, which is always the last day of the sale. I brought a HUGE bag and filled it with 43 books for only $3! I got such a book high and was so giddy all day. That joy alone was worth it, so I probably won’t be missing any of the upcoming sales! I’ll be doing some book haul posts soon to share what I got.
FOUR.
Speaking of the library, we just started doing an evening story time, which was a request we’d gotten a lot from working parents (myself included! We also have a Saturday Stories for that same reason). The first one was a couple of weeks ago and Jerry and I brought the boys. It was great! It was Holden’s first ever story time and Caleb’s first one in awhile since work schedules interfere. We also met up with Caleb’s buddy John and his parents. Caleb was so excited when John walked in the door! I’d like to try and go every month now.

FIVE.
What have you all been watching lately? Jerry and I just finished up the first two seasons of Channel Zero (loved season 2, liked season 1) and will watch the next two soon. Also just finished up the latest season of the super addicting and trashy Love After Lockup. Currently watching season 1 of the Will and Grace Revival, Married at First Sight, American Idol, and some back seasons of 90 Day Fiancé. I’m a reality TV junkie, obviously.
So that’s what we’ve been up to lately! We have a pretty busy weekend on the books. Tonight is girl’s night and my two besties are coming over for pizza. Sunday is my nephew’s first birthday party! I also have plans to work out Saturday and Sunday, and hopefully finish my current read so I can meet my March book goal!
