Get Sh*t Done: March 2019 Goals

February was another good month for me! Though I hit ALL of my goals in January, I didn’t quite get there this time, but was pretty darn close. Here’s how I did, plus my new goals for March!

February 2019 Goals Recap

Personal Goals

Read four books: DONE!
✅ Finish having all our 2018 Shutterfly books made: DONE! I just submitted the last of them yesterday to “Make My Book” and I can’t wait to see the finished products. Now…. I still have to ORDER about 10 books to be caught up, but at least they’re all (almost) made and ready for me now!
Clean Holden’s room: FAIL. No motivation. It was a short month and I work some weekends. I need a full weekend off to do this!
Transfer Holden to the crib: FAIL. Just didn’t do it. Oops. He already sleeps in his room, but he’s in a bassinet in there.
✅ Set up a new Goodwill box and purge five more pieces of clothing: DONE! It was a challenge this time to find five things I was willing to get rid of, but I did it! My wardrobe is still WAY too huge, but I’m feeling good about this progress at least.

Health Goals

No weighing myself: DONE! I put the scale away and didn’t hop on at all in February! I did get weighed at a doctor’s appointment (for my first ever UTI… yippee), but I didn’t weigh MYSELF until this morning, March 1st!
Work out 15 times: DONE! I beat this goal by one.
✅ Lose two pounds: DONE! Just weighed in this morning! More on this next week when I publish my next weigh-in post.

Financial Goals

Hit $290 in Caleb’s preschool fund: DONE! Thanks to our tax refund, yes!
Hit $350 in car repair fund: DONE! See above.

Other Notable Accomplishments

  • Filed our taxes
  • Scheduled an eye doctor appointment for next month (Mama needs wants some new glasses!)
  • Scheduled my car inspection for March
  • Had a teeth cleaning and scheduled a filling for myself and a cleaning for Caleb
✅ Total Completed: 8 of 10. This was a really good month! I’ve really stepped up my reading game so far this year, and have been successfully focusing on finances and health too. While I admit I’ve been feeling very overwhelmed lately, I’m also proud of myself.

March 2019 Goals

Rollover Goals

  • Clean Holden’s room
  • Transfer Holden to the crib

Personal Goals

  • Read five books: March is a longer month so I need to step it up!
  • Get Caleb’s hair cut: Caleb needs a haircut, but I’ve been waiting for my coworker’s daughter to get back to the school / salon. She’s in school for this and needs hours, so I’d love to have her cut his hair! Also… it’s only $5. She needs hours, I need to save money… sounds like a win-win to me.
  • Post my first “From My Shelves” blog post: this is a series I was working on years ago and then never got around to doing. One of my yearly goals was to post it four times this year, so I better get crackin’!
  • Transfer DVR recordings to hard drive: I am a DVR addict, friends. My DVR is almost always full, because I’m also always woefully behind on my shows. I discovered that Dish allows you to transfer recordings to an external hard drive then transfer them back when you’re ready to watch. To free up some room, I’m going to transfer the Christmas movies I didn’t get to watch from last year! I just ordered the new hard drive this week.

Health Goals

  • Work out 18 times: again, March is a longer month, so I think I can beat last month’s number of work outs.
  • Lose three pounds: I’m aiming for a bit higher this month.

Financial Goals

  • Save $25 in Caleb’s account: we just made the last payment for this school year, but need to start replenishing the fund for next school year’s tuition which will start up in the fall!
  • Get my car inspection and brakes done, no credit card: this is going to be expensive but it needs to be done this month and I’m pretty sure we can swing it with our tax refund money.
  • No credit cards PERIOD: now that we have a decent savings again (thanks to our tax refund), we need to stick with not using the credit cards at all!

Household Goals

  • Clean the fridge: this appears on these goal lists every few months. I need to sort through and toss old food, PLUS run the shelves and such through the dishwasher. Yuck.
⭐ Priority Goal: My work out goal!

One messy step at a time still moves you forward.
