Get Sh*t Done: January 2020 Goals

Ahhh… the first goal post of the year and of the decade. This feels intimidating, but I just decided to go with it and not overthink it too much. In this post, I’m looking back at how I did on my December 2019 goals — and setting some fresh ones for January 2020. Whether I crushed it or crawled through it, it all counts. Let’s keep going… one messy step at a time. ๐Ÿงน

December 2019 Goals Recap

Finish eight books: FAIL.
Read four Christmas books: FAIL. I read three Christmas books this month. I read one in November too, but only three in December.
Clean out the freezer: FAIL. I forgot about it.
Work out eight times: FAIL. I have literally been sick since Thanksgiving. I look forward to starting fresh in this new year!
Do my last From My Shelves blog post for the year: DONE! It features all Christmas books.
Complete my three “end of year” wrap up posts: DONE! I do these “year in review” posts annually for: my life in general for the year, my reading year, and my blog year.
Set 2020 goals: DONE. You can see my personal goals, reading goals, and blog goals in the above linked posts.
More Christmas baking: DONE! I made several more batches of cracker toffee, a batch of Oreo truffles, and a pecan pie!
✅ Total Completed: 4 of 8. Not too bad considering how busy and crazy we were with the holidays.

January 2020 Goals

  • Read five books: time to step it up in 2020!
  • Re-read the first Harry Potter: anyone in with me?
  • Work out 10 times: I need to re-motivate myself.
  • Do initial weigh in: I need to get my starting weight for the year, and then work from there.
  • Lose one pound: see above! Not setting it higher because we celebrate three birthdays this month and I plan to enjoy them: mine, Caleb’s and Jerry’s.
  • Make $20 on mTurk
  • Organize and put away Christmas decor
  • Go back and add years to my Get Sh*t Done titles (as seen above): I’ve been doing this for so long that I really need to update them with years!
⭐ Priority Goal:  My main focus for 2020 is to care about my health again, so I really want to focus on that this month, and also start off my reading year on a strong note!

One messy step at a time still moves you forward.
