ONE.
I have finally joined the modern ages and got my first ever Fitbit! Well, my aunt gave me her old one, but still! I never had any interest in one before, and now that I have one, I love it and wonder how I possibly lived without it before. Ha! I’m always checking my steps now, and more importantly, my heart rate. If you read my month in review, you saw that my heart rate is a little concerning to the doctors, as it’s been ranging somewhere in the 90s all the way up to the 130s. Keeping an eye on it with this is helpful, especially as I’ve just started a new medication that will hopefully lower it.
TWO.
Caleb is now officially registered for kindergarten! We have A TON of schools in my town, and luckily, he was assigned to a school that is in actual walking distance from our house. They had open hours yesterday evening for registration. I was expecting a long wait time, but there was just one couple in front of me who was finishing up, and then it was my turn. I handed in a bunch of paperwork, and they made copies of some documents, and voila, he was registered. I am so nervous about him being in school ALL DAY (preschool is only 3 mornings a week for him), but even more nervous about him riding the bus. You guys, he’s five years old and weighs 35 pounds (he had his check up last week). He’s tiny, and I hope that doesn’t make him an easy target for bullies. Ugh. How did my fellow moms get over these fears of the bus?!
THREE.
Holden has been a thief lately! Last weekend, he took one of my Christmas crafts off the table and it disappeared. I finally found it days later in a kitchen cupboard with the angel detached. On Wednesday, I stopped and got him a McDonalds hash brown for breakfast. I set it down in the living room, went to use the bathroom, and when I came out… the entire bag containing the hash brown was gone. I looked high and low for it and couldn’t find it ANYWHERE. So now I’m sure Jerry and I will find a rotten potato in our house at some point. Sigh.

The one on the left is what he stole. I need to get some more hot glue sticks so I can repair it. |
Did I tell you guys about our new cooking supplies?! Jerry’s the primary cook in our house, and my parents got him an air fryer for Christmas. Then for his birthday, my mom and I went in on an InstaPot for him. He / we love them and he’s hardly used the oven or stove at all since Christmas. I’ve somewhat figured out the air fryer, but the InstaPot freakin’ blows my mind and I don’t understand it at all. He’s mostly gotten the hang of it though, so yay! Any healthy, taste recipes for either that you swear by? If so, please leave it for us in the comments!
FIVE.
We have ZERO plans this weekend. Hallelujah, exactly what I like to see on my calendar! The rest of the month is looking kind of busy, so I’m glad for this small break.
That’s five for now — see you in the next chapter.
