SECOND TRIMESTER! HOORAY!
Symptoms: I had a really good week, so I think I’ve finally turned the corner! I had some mild heartburn one night, but other than that, no nausea and no migraines. Woohoo! I’m starting to get some energy back too, and I’ve gone from dead exhausted to just tired.
Sleep: Not horrible, but I did have one night where I felt hot and uncomfortable and just could not get to sleep. My feet were also so itchy and I was miserable. I was whining to Jerry and had him bring me Gatorade and lie down with me. Kinda gross, but I think I have Athlete’s Foot. I was researching on the night I couldn’t sleep. They’ve been itchy and EXTREMELY dry and patchy for years, so I’m going to see about what creams would be safe for me to use during pregnancy.
Diet/Cravings: Chocolate milk, red Gatorade (both of these were cravings last pregnancy too), paninis from Soho, and Jalapeno Cheetos!
Exercise: It was a CRAZY busy week, but I forced myself to find time to get to the gym three times – yay for me! I went Tuesday after work, Wednesday morning before work, and Friday after work. I usually only like to go after work if it’s one of my days I’m out at 4:00, but Tuesday and Friday were both 5:00 days and I STILL did it. Tuesday, I walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes. After that, I decided to up my game. I did 35 minutes of the treadmill on Wednesday, and 35 minutes of the elliptical on Friday. I’m going to gradually increase my time over the next few months. I’ve had some terrible foot pain the past couple of weeks. The bottom and arch of my foot are really sore, and I’m not sure why. The elliptical definitely felt better for my foot than the treadmill, though.
Good Moments: Having some energy again! I’ve been reading more, and even stayed up a little late to do some dishes and housework one night.
Bad Moments: Just my dang feet! The soreness that I mentioned (which I think came on due to wearing flat shoes with no support all day at work), and also the itchiness. Weird, I know.
Looking Forward To: Wednesday is the elective ultrasound that we booked, and if the baby cooperates, we should be finding out gender! AHHH! If you didn’t know, we have all boys in this family. I have Caleb and my brother has three boys. There’s a lot of pressure on this little baby of ours to finally be the first girl, but we will see. I’m just happy either way to have a healthy baby and to give Caleb a sibling. I can’t wait to see the baby again and also find out what we’re having so I can start preparing. If it’s a girl, I need to start shopping for clothes. If it’s a boy, I need to start sorting through all of Caleb’s old baby clothes. Do you have any last minute gender guesses? I’m not sure when we’ll be announcing, so hang tight!
Comparisons: Here’s my 14 week bumpdate with Caleb. Funny, I mentioned having sore legs. Wonder if my sore foot is somehow pregnancy related then? I doubt it. I also mentioned that I was feeling pretty good, but had a couple days of nausea. Seems I’m doing better on week 14 this time around than last time.
