Time to check in and reset. In this post, I’m looking back at how I did on my February 2018 goals — and setting some fresh ones for March 2018. Whether I crushed it or crawled through it, it all counts. Let’s keep going… one messy step at a time.
February 2018 Goals Recap
personal goals
❌Watch two movies at home with hubby: FAIL. We watched one: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, and started a second, but I was always too tired to finish. Pregnancy problems.
✅ Go to the Y at least five times: DONE! I crushed it by going seven times: 2/11, 2/13, 2/15, 2/19, 2/23, 2/24, 2/27
❌Transfer 50 videos off my phone and onto the hard drive: FAIL. Didn’t even start.
✅ See three movies in theater: DONE! I saw four.
- Winchester: good.
- 50 Shades Freed: I loved it.
- 15:17 to Paris: cool but pretty boring.
- Game Night: great! Really entertaining and fun.
Financial Goals
❌Don’t use the credit card: FAIL.
❌ Put aside $100 total from our checks toward our vacation savings: FAIL. Put aside around $50, but we opted to skip the trip to Florida. Instead, we will just focus on paying off some more debt and saving for maternity leave.
✅Pay for Caleb’s birthday party without the credit card: DONE!
✅Make at least one sale for my Diplicious business: DONE! I had two sales, thanks to my friends Angela and Wilfrieda!
Household Goals
❌Put away all the laundry: FAIL. I did better, but not quite there.
✅ Get all my Halloween village and Christmas decorations properly put away: DONE. I cleared some cupboards in the basement for this.
✅ Total Completed: 5 of 10.
March 2018 Goals
personal goals
- Read through and discard five magazines: I have a huge stash that I never get to. This will help with de-cluttering, which is a constant goal of mine.
- Finish three books: I want to finish the one I’m currently reading, plus two more.
- See three movies in theater
- Watch two movies at home with hubby
- Go to the gym eight times: upping my game here!
- Go on two dates nights: Jerry and I have started a new schedule for date nights / family date nights. Every other Saturday, we are going out to dinner and then maybe something else fun. Sometimes it’ll be the two of us and sometimes we will bring Caleb.
financial Goals
- Increase savings account by $75
- Don’t use the credit card: repeat goal!
- Don’t buy any new vendor wax: I need to slow down the spending on my beloved vendor wax (homemade wax for my warmers).
Household Goals
- Swiffer the kitchen twice a week: I made a new household chore schedule for us to follow and this is part of it. We are always falling behind on housework, and I hope this helps. Swiffering is huge in our house because Ruffles tends to have accidents in there. Joys of mill dog ownership.
- Clean the bathroom sink every Sunday: see above.
- Do four loads of laundry every weekend: see above.
- Cook two Sundays: Jerry and I also have a new weekend dinner schedule where we’ll be alternating who cooks each Sunday. I’m a novice in the kitchen, so this will be good for me.
- Put away all the laundry in our room: I have a few baskets that have been sitting for awhile. Oops.
- Get the dogs groomed: Dakota needs his hair cut and Ruffles needs her nails did.
- Get Caleb’s hair cut: I love it long, but the hair is getting into his eyes at this point. Sigh.
Apparently, I am being very ambitious this month. This could be a lot for an exhausted, pregnant, full time working mom to a toddler, so wish me luck. I think it’s important though that we get these new routines down and in place before the new baby comes. Hopefully it’ll help ease the transition to a larger family. Wish me luck!
One messy step at a time still moves you forward.
