I forgot to post my bumpdate last weekend, so today is a bumpdate for the last three weeks! Here’s what’s been going on with the baby and my pregnancy.

Bump + Caleb on 6/20/18 at 27+3 |
I took my glucose test and passed — hooray! No issues at all. This was my second time having to take the test for this pregnancy. Because I’m overweight, they also had me take it in my first trimester. RUDE! Haha.
On 6/8, when I was 25+5, Jerry felt the baby move for the first time from the outside. He said it was funny and cute, which is in stark contrast to the time he freaked out and said Caleb felt like an alien.
On 6/19, I had my 28 week appointment. It was my last “every four weeks” appointment, and now I start going every two weeks. Yikes!
As of my appointment, I am up a total of 14 pounds. I feel really good about this number, considering I gained 70 pounds with Caleb! With only 12 weeks to go, I would imagine my total gain for this pregnancy will be under 30 pounds. Fingers crossed.
On that note… I went to the gym once in early June like usual, and then I felt horrendous for days after. I did the same as I’ve been doing since January: 35 minutes of cardio. I asked the doctor at my appointment and he said this means I was overdoing it, even though it didn’t seem like it to me with the short workouts. Probably because I’m pretty out of shape. He advised me to walk outside for exercise for the remainder of the pregnancy.
Baby is moving and grooving a lot now. I can feel him from the outside too which is definitely exciting.
My mother bought the baby a gift which is a new crib mattress. Once we get the GIANT Caleb baby out of the crib, we will swap this one in so the new baby has a fresh mattress.
Icky symptoms: on any given day, I can feel back pain, heartburn, breathless, and discomfort up in the ribs from baby shifting up. My feet are starting to swell and I am not loving the heat. Lastly, I’ve been prone to charlie horses some mornings and now my calves have been sore and tight for days.
I’ve heard quite a few times this week at work that I’m looking pregnant now, and also starting to walk funny. HAHA! This same thing happened between 26 and 28 weeks with Caleb too.
I’ve had a few Braxton Hicks contractions where my belly tightened, but they were few and far enough between that the doctor said it was normal. I also counted kicks yesterday for a 2 hour time frame at work because the baby hadn’t been moving much. You need 10 kicks in 2 hours. He hardly moved the first hour, then picked up steam in the second hour. PHEW!
I am now officially third trimester which blows my dang mind. Time to kick it into high gear with baby prep. I really need to start getting his clothes situation sorted. I cannot for the life of me find the tote of Caleb’s newborn clothes. I need to either keep looking or start buying some stuff. The issue is that September is hit or miss weather wise here. It could be either hot OR cold. Sigh.
