Get Sh*t Done: June 2020

Time to check in and reset. In this post, I’m looking back at how I did on my May 2020 goals — and setting some fresh ones for June 2020. May was… not a pretty month for my goals. It was a VERY weird month, so I’m not going to beat myself up over it. I returned to work on very short notice in the middle of the month, so all my free time got dried up quite suddenly. I ended up forgetting about most of these goals with all the craziness that was going on. Anyway, here is how I did… and it’s not pretty.

May 2020 Goals Recap

Reading

Read 7 books: FAIL. Got close though!
Re-read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: FAIL. Didn’t even get to start.

WAtching

❌ Finish Making a Murderer: FAIL. Almost, but not quite yet!
Finish season one of The Good Doctor: FAIL. I watched a couple more episodes, but still have a long ways to go. It’s great though!
Finish The Circle: FAIL. I watched a couple more but then forgot. Oops.
Finish The Handmaid’s Tale: FAIL. We finished season 2, but haven’t started season 3 yet.
✅ Watch 2 movies: DONE. I watched the Blackfish documentary, which was devastating. Inspired by that, Caleb and I then watched Free Willy together. Jerry and I also started the It sequel but still have to finish it!

Household

❌ Clean out the freezer: FAIL. I did clean it out somewhat, but not all the way.
❌ Clean out the car: FAIL.
✅ Get an oil change: DONE. I also got air in my tires.

Health

Exercise 6 times: FAIL.
✅ Total Completed:  3 of 12. Yikes. Like I said… not a pretty month, but it was a weird one.

June 2020 Goals

Reading

  • Read 7 books
  • Re-read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

WAtching

  • Finish Making a Murderer
  • Finish season one of The Good Doctor
  • Finish The Circle
  • Finish The Handmaid’s Tale: we have to watch all of season 3 still. Jerry kind of lost interest in it, so I’m not sure if he’ll be watching too or not, but I know I will!
  • Finish Love After Lockup: this is probably my number one guilty pleasure show. I am currently catching up on the latest season.
  • Finish watching It, Chapter 2: this movie is so dang long. We started it last month and still need to finish it, lol.

personal

  • Schedule my ultrasound for surgery: I was supposed to have this done in March but it got canceled. It’s one of the last requirements I need for my bariatric surgery, and they’ll be checking my gallbladder.
  • Schedule a haircut for Dakota: this poor pup looks homeless. I think I heard of at least one local groomer who is currently open.
⭐ Priority Goal: Keep it lowkey and re-adjust to working full time again after two months at home.

One messy step at a time still moves you forward.
