I haven’t done a weekend recap since 2017… so hello, hi! Been awhile, eh?
Backing it up until Friday. I took an hour of comp time, and left work early, at 4:00. I had a lot of errands to run, so I wanted to get an early start on them.
I went home, quickly swapped out my car for Jerry’s (his is just newer and generally WAY better on gas, so I like to run errands in his car), and grabbed the boys to come with me so Jerry could relax. We picked up my mom and made a few stops. First, we stopped at Something Delicious Bakery. They were holding an order of my favorite cookie dough for me. I also brought Caleb in to pick out a cupcake (confetti vanilla), and I got one for Holden too (s’mores!). After that was a quick stop at Kohl’s to do an Amazon return, then we drove out to Brockport to pick up a grocery order (neither of the Walmarts in my town offer this yet). On the way home, we stopped and got KFC for the boys, then I dropped my mom and Caleb off at her house so he could have a sleep over.
I finally got home and fed Holden. I had Jerry bring in my grocery order which had some groceries, several new teas for us to try, some faux succulents, and Father’s Day gifts. There was also a small reusable bag that Walmart had stuck in the trunk and it had a TON of free samples inside. Score!
Saturday morning I called my mom to check on Caleb, and we discovered that our Savers store had finally reopened! Yasssss! I got myself and Holden ready, we headed out to pick up my mom and Caleb, and we got to Savers right around the time they opened at 11. It was SUPER busy, which is exactly what I expected. I usually like to buy figurines, decor, and small trinkets for my crafts, but I didn’t have much luck this time. I only found a couple of little figurines which was a bummer, but I did find myself a pair of leopard print Coach sneakers for $10, and the boys both got a TON of much needed summer clothes. All in all, it ended up being a decent thrifting day.
After our morning of shopping, we stopped for milkshakes and then McDonalds for lunch. We kept an eye out for garage sales too, but that was a bust. Caleb wanted to stay at his Mimi’s, so I dropped them back off with their lunches and Holden and I headed home. After we had lunch, it was nap time for both of us.
After nap time was over, I was off to pick up Caleb and then the surprise pizza I had ordered for Father’s Day from our favorite pizza place, Caraglios. I got a sheet pizza because they were running a special and did half white, half red. So good, and Jerry was happily surprised. When I ordered, I selected curbside pick up, so when we got there, I called to let them know I was outside. The girl’s response was to come in. WTF… so Caleb and I had to go in without masks, which I didn’t bring because we ordered curbside. Very frustrating.
After dinner, I didn’t feel well, so I got Holden to bed, then Caleb and I went into my room by 7 to watch TV for the rest of the night while Jerry gamed. Caleb said “I’ll take care of you,” because he can be the sweetest boy ever.
Sunday was Father’s Day, and we gave Jerry his gifts first thing in the morning. He needed new earbuds, and I also got him an insulated mug. After that, I went to Wegmans to get my prescriptions and made a pit stop at Tim Hortons.
Jerry cut the grass then set up a new sprinkler toy for the boys. We spent the afternoon outside while the boys ran around and played. My parents stopped over so we could see my dad, and we had leftover pizza for lunch. After that, it was another nap time for Holden and me (queen of naps). After I got up, I meal prepped for the week, which is a giant pain in the ass, and very time consuming. I now have four days of meals packed and ready to go though, with protein, veggies and starch, as my good ol’ annoying nutritionist recommends. After that, the day was coming to an end and it was just about time to wind down for the night.
Overall, it ended up being a pretty busy weekend. We had fun though, and it was really nice out.
