Hey guys, happy Tuesday! How are you all? How was the weekend? It was a busy one for us, so I thought I’d do a quick recap of the main events. LOL.
I ended up taking vacation days from work last Thursday and Friday because Friday was my second Blend Bash! This is a party style that we do for Pink Zebra where your friends can come and make custom wax blends. It’s a lot of fun, but a lot of set up. Plus, hosting anything at home of course involves a lot of cleaning, cooking, preparing, and STRESSING, right? I also had a lengthy appointment on Thursday.

Anyway, Thursday I “met” with my new nutritionist. When I requested a new one through my surgeon’s office, they made me “start over” and re-take the nutrition seminar, so this took place on Thursday via Zoom. So far, so good. She seems really nice and I hope we work well together.
Friday was a busy day. In the morning, I had one friend come over to make her blends because she couldn’t make it that night, and it was nice to catch up with her without the chaos of a party. She brought her son, so the kids played and it was an adventure. Then the rest of the day was spent on a cleaning frenzy and a stress frenzy, as per usual. Each time I’ve held a Blend Bash, I’ve thought to myself: “nope, not doing this again.” Then I do it, and it goes fine, and I do it again. LOL. Jerry made cookies, I made buffalo chicken dip, and friends brought treats as well. I had a good turn out, everyone seemed to have a good time, and it was mostly smooth sailings, though Holden does enjoy stealing beverages from guests. I stayed up late tidying up, FINALLY getting to sit down, and finally getting to eat. Hosting is always a whirlwind of chaos.

Saturday, don’t even remember what the day entailed. Probably still recovering from Friday. Socializing requires mass amounts of quiet and recovery for introverts and HSPs. The evening brought family night at my parent’s house though. Since it was so nice out (we’re been in the 60s and 70s temperature-wise all week!), they wanted to grill out, so we had homemade garbage plates for dinner. Shout out to my mom for making the majority of our feast. It’s even better than any garbage plate around that we could buy! Anywho, my brother’s family joined, as did my Aunt Karin and Uncle Jim. The boys were all wild, but it was nice to spend time with the fam. My SIL and I always find crap to gossip about. HA!
When we got home that night, Jerry and I watched a new movie called Unhinged. It was really good! It definitely kept our attention throughout. It was a one-time view for us, but a nail biter for sure. We’d recommend it if you enjoy a good thriller.
Sunday was an interesting day. Last year, my aunt and I each won a free 45 minute session for a salt room! These were about to expire, so we finally went and used them. We booked appointments in advance, then went to the facility called Body Mind Float Center, and off we went to the salt room. It was really nice and dim, with these nice chaise lounge type chairs to sit on. A machine went on that dispersed salt particles, but they were so small that we couldn’t see them coming out. However, we COULD see salt dusting around the room, and we could taste salt. My aunt felt some positive effects with her lungs already, but I wasn’t sure if I could notice anything yet. It was still nice and relaxing. After, we asked to see the float areas, and the owner was kind enough to show us all the different float options they had. We both thought we would like to try that out sometime.
So that about wraps up the “main events” of our weekend. It was a busy one for sure. I also wanted to mention some pretty cool news for those of you who have been following along in my migraine saga. I started Topamax as a new preventative about a week and a half ago, and haven’t had a single migraine since! Pretty good, huh? I’m feeling pretty positive about that!
Hope you all enjoy the week ahead.
