Weekend Recap

Another weekend, come and gone… but at least it was nice and sunny! We didn’t have a whole lot planned, but it ended up feeling somewhat busy anyway. Here are five things from our weekend again!

Two desserts for Caleb!

On Friday night, Caleb and I went out for waffles / dessert with my parents to try out a new waffle restaurant I’ve been wanting to go to. Jerry stayed home with Holden because Holden is feral and not allowed out in public (and already in bed) and Jerry didn’t want ice cream. I had an Oreo ice cream wafflewich, and Caleb had ice cream AND a milkshake (the sh*t that happens when your child places his own order). We all really liked it and plan to go again.

Lots of outdoor time

Saturday was a really nice day, so Jerry and Holden also tagged along to Caleb’s piano lesson. The music school is also a coffee shop, so we sat out on the deck during his lesson, and then went to a playground that’s basically right behind it after his lesson was over. Holden had several tantrums, picked weeds, and attempted a slide several times before chickening out every time. Caleb ran around and went down the slide approximately 72 times. Always good to get the kids some fresh air and let them burn some energy! Caleb definitely played outside a lot this weekend, and even though I detest the outdoors (HA!), I sat outside with him because it was only in the 60s. Once it gets super hot out… forget it, unless I can find some shade.

Catching up at home

I spent some time attempting to catch up on LIFE! I feel like I’m always behind on everything: keeping up with the house, the laundry, my Pink Zebra, shows, books, SLEEP! I spent some time this weekend kind of deep cleaning then re-arranging the bathroom and also organizing and cleaning out the cleaning supplies in the kitchen. These small things help, but our house could use a lot of major upgrades like entire room remodels, and re-painting our MANY dinged up and colored on (looking at you, Caleb) walls. I’d like to tackle some of these projects soon and am thinking about hiring a house painter for some of the more difficult areas like the front of our stairs, which are super scuffed up, and the angled walls going up the staircase. In the meantime, it’s good to work on some smaller projects that we can do on our own that don’t require much skill or money. HA! I also took a lot of time working on PZ orders and even delivered a few to customers. Sunday night, I let Caleb come up with his own blend to sell, and even though it sounded awful (Simply Lemon + Hers), it actually smelled great! Anyway, I feel slightly more caught up, but I’ll never be ENTIRELY caught up. Sigh.

Too much takeout!

We ate out way too much. LOL. On Friday, Jerry made his usual stop at Pino’s, a deli / sub / prepared food shop, and I got a sub… then Caleb and I went out for waffles and dessert that night. On Saturday after piano, the kids got KFC for lunch and I got Subway. Then on Sunday, I decided to get take out again from the waffle place because the waffles were good, reasonably priced, and there were so many flavors to try. Caleb and I also stopped at Wendy’s for lemonade because he drank all of his from the waffle place on the way home and I wanted some too. Oops. Need to rein in the food spending and junk eating, big time! It’s just so easy to grab stuff that is already made when we’re tired from working and Holden is the most exhausting child to raise in the whole world. Example? He chucked the lemonade on the floor after Caleb had only taken a sip or 2. NOT happy. This is why we call him beast.

Big PZ accomplishments

I found out that in April, I hit 20K in sales for PZ for year to date. I was shocked and had NO IDEA. I was also number 20 company wide for highest party sales for April, number 33 company wide for customer sales growth in April, and number 41 company wide for customer sales growth for the entire year to date. Like… what? How? I don’t even mean to sound like I’m bragging, but I always want to write this stuff down so I don’t forget because I’m always surprised and excited and just genuinely don’t know how. Anyway, now this month of course so far has been my worst month in sales to date. Ugh, go figure! Anyway, I just have to keep reminding myself I only signed up for fun and to get myself a discount, and I have far exceeded and surpassed that goal. If slow months happen, it’s okay! I never expected it to go anywhere anyway, but now that I HAVE done well, I always expect myself to do well. A reminder to myself… just have fun. ALWAYS make that the number one goal with this little side hustle.

Anyway, that’s about it. It’s Monday. I’m tired and could go to bed and it’s not quite 3 pm yet. Help meeeee.
