Man, some months you just feel like a BOSS. April was that kind of month for me, which was great after having a lot of crappy goal months recently. Here’s how I did last month, and what I’m working on this month.
April 2021 Goals Recap
✅ Schedule an oil change for me: DONE. Scheduled and got it done!
✅ Get new tires: DONE. Scheduled and got it done!
✅ Schedule grooming for Dakota: DONE.
✅ Set up Holden’s bed: DONE, thanks to Dad and Jerry.
✅ Set up Caleb’s shelves: DONE, thanks to Dad.
✅ Clean Holden’s room: DONE, sort of. It’s not great, but had to be quickly cleaned for the bed, and it looks better.
❌ Clean Caleb’s room: Partially, but not really. This is rolling over.
✅ Clean MY room: DONE, but kind of cheating because the clutter just got re-located, so now I need to de-clutter and clean the downstairs. However, it’s more important to have clean rooms than a clean downstairs / basement area lol.
✅ Finish watching Night Stalker with Jerry: DONE. This one was a slow starter for me, but I really enjoyed the last two episodes.
❌ Watch the second season of Unsolved Mysteries: FAIL. Totally forgot. Will roll this over AGAIN.
✅ Watch Framing Britney Spears: DONE. Really enjoyed this one, even though it was also sad. I loved the nostalgia though.
❌ Watch To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, movies 2 and 3: FAIL. I forgot. Sigh.
❌ Watch Dave Not Coming Back documentary: FAIL. Need to roll over.
❌ Watch I Still Believe movie: FAIL. Need to roll over.
✅ Hit 2000 SV for my Pink Zebra business: DONE. My month was awesome, and I ended somewhere near 3,500.
✅ Do not use my Visa credit card: DONE! Used zero credit this month, so even better!
Other Notable Accomplishments
● Did SO MUCH work to my car that was long overdue. As mentioned above, I got an oil change and four new tires. But then, my car started SMOKING, so I also ended up having to get something with the AC fixed (cause of the smoking from the hood), my muffler and tailpipe, and some kind of water valve. My car is quiet for the first time in a long time. LOL
● Officially transferred Holden out of the crib and into a toddler bed.
● This was all Jerry, but we finally got another riding lawn mower. We inherited an old one and it died, so then we had a push mower for a couple of years, but our yard is pretty large and hilly, so he wanted to get a rider again.
● Advocated like a MOTHER for Caleb and fought for several weeks with the PE teacher, art teacher, and principal for the shitty grades they gave him. All in all, I am still not happy with the lack of a resolution, but I feel that I got my point across, and no, I won’t be quiet about my kid… EVER.
✅ Total Completed: 11 of 16. Great month for me! I got most of the important stuff done and just missed some of the fun/silly TV and movie goals, so I felt very good about April!
May 2021 Goals
- Clean Caleb’s room: roll over.
- Buy Caleb a keyboard: he takes piano lessons but only has a tiny keyboard. I want to get him a full size one because he’s doing really well and is kind of a natural.
- Watch Dave Not Coming Back documentary: roll over.
- Watch I Still Believe movie: roll over.
- No credit cards: keep the momentum going
- Go to waffle restaurant: Jerry and I took the kids to a new waffle place recently and it was great. There’s another waffle place I want to try this month!
- Finish two books: hopefully the book I’m reading now, and then the one I plan on starting next.
- Find a dresser: Holden needs a new dresser because his is broken. I’ve seen some on Marketplace, but it’s a challenge because those move fast and we don’t have a truck!
- Clean dining room table: as usual, it’s covered in my Pink Zebra stuff. I need to get this organized better somehow. Sigh.
- 2500 SV for Pink Zebra
- Send out samples and rewards: I have a list of people I need to send our May Paisley’s Pick (scent of the month) to, and I am so slow about getting this done. I also have a couple more out of town people I need to mail rewards to.
- Figure out Pirate Ship: speaking of shipping, I need to work on figuring out Pirate Ship because it’s supposed to be faster and cheaper than the post office.
- Update loyalty cards: I fall behind in this a lot because it’s time consuming. I want to end May completely caught up on everyone’s points, and have their newly designed cards uploaded.
- Organize my Cartons: I need to sort and alphabetize my Cartons (my wax Sprinkles).
- Get cleared by the nutritionist: I have my next appointment this month and I hope I can be done with it and get cleared!
- Pack up a return: I need to return these huge Christmas carolers due to fabric ripping, and it’s been over a month because I need to find a huge box. LOL.
- Defensive driving: my insurance discount for having defensive driving is expiring, so I have to take the 8+ hour online course again. UGH. Jerry needs to do it too so we can get an extra discount, but pretty sure I’ll end up doing it for him.
- Buy shoe rack for foyer: I have my eye on a small shoe rack that I want to get for the foyer.
Lots of goals this month…. yikes. We’ll see if it’s as good of a month as April was!
One messy step at a time still moves you forward.
