Thankful Thursday (2)

I’m happy to be linking up with Rebecca Jo for another round of Thankful Thursday! I’m loving doing this because I just keep a running list going each week and add to it whenever I find something to be grateful for. Here’s what I’ve been thankful for since last week’s linkup!

Book Outlet sales

I don’t even remember the last time I paid full price for a book. I love Book Outlet because they sell super discounted books… I love them even more when they have a sale! Last week they had a great sale so of COURSE I had to partake. I’ll share my haul soon!

Caleb behaving at dinner

The three of us went to dinner over the weekend and Caleb was SO well behaved that the waitress said she needed to compliment us since she mostly sees really naughty toddlers. Though Caleb has his fair share of meltdowns (trust me…), it was a proud mama moment.

Visitors & dogs at work

Not only did my aunt visit me at work on Friday (which was awesome!), it was also Paws to Read day. We had SEVEN dogs in the children’s room visiting so that kids could read to them. Lucky for me, I was assigned to work in the kid’s room, so I was surrounded by dogs all morning and it was heavenly!

Sleeping in

Caleb gets me up every day at around 7:15, but on Sunday, I woke up and checked the clock: 9:30. What the?! I jumped out of bed, panicked that something was wrong since Caleb wasn’t up yet. I ran into his room and the sloth was still asleep! He popped his head up and woke up only when I went in. I am 100% serious when I say I haven’t slept in that late since before Caleb was born, so that means it’s been over two years. I forgot what it felt like… luxurious!

Cookie dough

I bought some tubs of frozen cookie dough at work for a fundraiser and oh. em. gee. It was overly expensive, but so convenient. Want a few cookies for a quick weekend dessert? BOOM. Done. Need something to bring to book club or an event? CHECK. It’s pretty tasty too, even if they aren’t quite as good as my favorite pudding cookies that I make. Also, my mom just bought me a refill of my favorite (and cheaper) cookie dough from Sams – hallelujah!

Blogging mojo

I had a small blogging slump in March where I went a week and a half without blogging, but now I’ve gotten my mojo back! Sometimes I’m out of ideas / motivation / energy, but lately, I’ve been blogging 3-4 times a week again. I have been bursting with ideas and inspiration and I love it!

First Abbotts of the season

It was warm enough on Sunday to head down to the beach to walk the pier and enjoy our first Abbotts of the season! They’re famous for their amazing frozen custard. Caleb enjoyed it and fed himself with the spoon (a new skill he’s been working on).

No-reply Blogger fix

For the longest time, I’ve been a No-reply blogger. When I tried to change it, my comments started going through as spam. Well, I spent some time over the weekend investigating because I think some people weren’t getting emails about my comments AND people couldn’t reply when they did get them. Anyway, I changed the email address on my Google / Blogger account and should be set now. PHEW!

Thrifting

Went to dinner and did a little bit of shopping with Caleb and my mom on Tuesday. We hit up Dairy Queen, Goodwill (where I found some books – duh – and some clothes for Cal) and Big Lots because I was looking for vitamins for Caleb (found ’em! Plus some wax melts). I love poking around the thrift store and seeing what treasures I can find. Also, did you know that if your little one is with you, you can get a free 99 cent kid book every visit? Check your Goodwill… they do it at all of ours.
