Get Sh*t Done: September 2020 Goals

Well August was a trainwreck for my goals, apparently. This is the worst I’ve ever done on my monthly goals, but it’s okay. I focused most of my energy on ONE goal, and it really paid off. See below…

August 2020 Goals Recap

❌ Read / finish six books: FAIL. I finished three.
Finish my book club book in time for the meeting: FAIL.
End the month with a higher savings account: FAIL
Make three sales in my new wax business: DONE! I launched my Pink Zebra business in early August, and then killed this goal and am so proud! I made around 20-ish sales I think!
Clean out and organize the freezer: FAIL.
Get cleared for surgery by my dietitian: FAIL. See below. I won’t get cleared until I hit my goal, but that’s okay. I don’t need to rush.
Lose 10 pounds: FAIL. 10 pounds was a really lofty goal, and not super realistic. Oh well.
Re-watch Hell House LLC: FAIL. We did watch some other movies though, including The Biggest Little Farm, a really cool documentary, and In Search of Darkness, a 4+ hour horror documentary.
Finish watching Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant: FAIL. I’m about halfway through,
Re-watch Teen Mom: OG, season one: FAIL. Didn’t even start yet.
Finish watching Making a Murderer: FAIL.
✅ Total Completed: 1 of 11. HAHAHA! Worst month of all time, I think, but I am truly okay with it. Most of my focus and attention this month went to launching my Pink Zebra business, and I went above and beyond surpassing my goal for that, so I’m happy! I’ll roll over a bunch of these goals for September though.

September 2020 Goals

  • Read / finish four books
  • Finish my book club book in time for the meeting: Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder by Joanne Fluke for my work mystery book club.
  • Complete Quick Start 2 for Pink Zebra: this is part of a series of sales goals that the company gives to new consultants. I have until 10/5 to hit this one, but I want to hit it in September. I hit my QS1 in 9 days when I had an entire month for it, so I BELIEVE I can do it. Fingers crossed.
  • Finish watching Creepshow, season one: Jerry and I started this on Shudder and it’s really fun.
  • Finish watching Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant
  • Finish watching Making a Murderer
  • Watch at least two horror movies: Fall is upon us (but we watch horror year round anyway, who am I kidding?).
  • Listen to 10 podcast episodes: I am listening to Congratulations from Chris D’Elia (I’m on episode 24), and Voices for Justice (on episode 2). I’d like to get through 10 more of these this month, in any combination!
  • Go on eight walks: I love going for walks in the fall because it’s good exercise, and it’s enjoyable. I am NOT a fan of hot summer walks.
  • Get fry cakes from at least one farm: there are several farms we go to every fall for fry cakes, and I’d like to hit at least our first one this month, with more to come next month!
  • Purchase at least three shirts from Unfiltered Gear: I JUST became an affiliate for Unfiltered Gear, the reason being that it’s owned by the same couple who own Diplicious (whom I’ve been an affiliate with since 2017!). Anyway, I have a HUGE wishlist of shirts and mugs that I want, so I’d like to budget in room for at least three this month.
  • Pay 2/3 of medical bills: we got three medical bills in the mail (my sleep study, my ultrasound, and Caleb’s appointment). They’re all just co-pays, so nothing big. I want to pay two of them this month, and the last one next month.
  • Lose five pounds: I need to lose weight to get approved for my surgery, but I am not going to kill myself to lose 10+ pounds a month. I want to take it a little at a time, and even five seems high… but we’ll see what happens!
And I think that’ll do it for September! I mostly set “fun” goals this month, because it’s about to be fall, my favorite time of the year, and I just want to relax a little and enjoy it.

One messy step at a time still moves you forward.
