Good morning / afternoon! How was your weekend? Mine wasn’t super, honestly. I was pretty unproductive because I didn’t feel great, everyone’s sleep was all wonky, and I was pretty irritable and crabby from all of that stuff combined. On the plus side, it was pretty sunny out and we had a couple of 50 / 60 degree days last week (back to 20s / 30s this week, UGH!). Anyway, here are a few things that happened this weekend.
Friday night fun
Friday night was a little hectic but kind of fun. Well, the first part wasn’t fun. I actually headed straight to Wegmans after work because one of my prescription pills absolutely REEKED every time I opened the bottle. Last time this happened, the pharmacist was completely shocked, exchanged it, and said he would report it to the manufacturer. So when it happened again, I brought it in again. This time though, the pharmacist I dealt with said it was normal?! Not sure who to listen to or believe now. Anyway, after that I headed home (stinky medicine in hand) and ate some dinner. I had Jerry bring home dinner again from the cooking school at his work: corn chowder, breadsticks, shepherd’s pie, tons of desserts. To our surprise, both the boys loved the shepherd’s pie. Who would have thought?! Then it was time for another hectic, chaotic, fun live Pink Zebra shopping event + new item reveal. Several of my customers were pretty pumped too so I was messaging with them and placing orders while watching it from home. Caleb was also excited to watch. LOL.
Piano lesson and errands with Caleb
Caleb had his second piano lesson on Saturday while I enjoyed their version of a shamrock shake in their coffeehouse, followed by lots of errands, including a bakery run so he could partake in his favorite: Spin the Wheel Saturday. He won 5% off! We also went and did a Walmart pickup, grabbed my business card order at Staples, and hit up McDonalds because he wanted a Happy Meal. At least it was a sunny afternoon!
Daylight Savings messed us UP!
I awoke on Sunday to discover it was 11:15 (!!!) and was in absolute shock that I had slept so late, and Holden too! Then I remembered we skipped an hour overnight, but 10:15 is super freaking late too for us too so WTF?! I haven’t slept past 9 since probably college, so I’m pretty sure some kind of strange voodoo magic happens during that hour we skip too. Also strange, I went to sleep before 10 that night too, which is early for me. At least I was somewhat productive beforehand though. I made a couple of jars of overnight oats for breakfasts this week, and a bariatric friendly, low-carb lasagna out of tortillas for dinners. I put them all in the fridge and am looking forward to trying my lasagna tonight. I am TRYING to plan ahead so I don’t eat like crap, but it’s hard to find the time and energy.
More migraines
My migraines tend to ebb and flow, and this weekend was another migraine weekend. I had a minor one on Saturday and had to take my Sumatripran. Then it kind of rolled over into Sunday, as it often does. I ended up having to take TWO doses on Sunday and it still didn’t go away. I ended up going to bed with one still, which always sucks. Ugh.
Caleb and Holden shenanigans
These two are wild… Holden in particular. They’re always getting up to something. Let’s see. This weekend, I rolled out a big coloring sheet for them and they had some crayons. Holden got a black dry erase marker though, then decided to color the floor and himself with THAT. Caleb is just funny more than anything though. He definitely has his bad moments, but he’s also hilarious. On Friday night, he was running around with some of my books, pretending he was in a book club. One of them was a true crime book, and let me tell you, it’s awesome to have a kindergartner who can read so well, but once in awhile, it’s not. He was flipping through pages and sing-reading random lines: “woman’s disappearance / the cop’s went door to door / never got her tube-y’s tied!”
So, that was our weekend of sun and strange sleep!
