ONE.
Well I think it’s safe to say the fall weather has officially arrived in New York! We’ve had cooler temps for a few weeks, but then a random heat wave last week, UGH! I cannot stand the heat and summer, so I am all about the crisp fall air! Time to make sure our windows and doors are snow proof because the snow will be coming soon too, whether we’re ready or not!
TWO.
My weight loss surgery has kind of been on hold since July, which was my last virtual visit with my dietician. After she continued to discourage me, I felt like giving up and I canceled my August appointment. Well, I finally decided I can’t let one person prevent me from doing what I want. I am a VERY passive person, so while it was hard for me, I sent an email to the Bariatric office asking for a new dietician and I told them my reasons. They finally called me back this morning. They kind of discouraged me getting a new one and said I’d have to take the Nutrition Seminar again so I could start over with someone new, but I held my ground. Now I’m just waiting for a call from the scheduler, and feeling a lot better. It’s not easy for me to speak out, but I’m finding that it gets a bit easier the older I get. Anyone else?
THREE.
I know you all are probably sick of hearing about Pink Zebra, but I’m just so excited about it and loving it! Ever since starting in August, I’ve been in the top 5 sales for my small team each week (around 30), but I made it in the top 10 sales for September in my large team (around 400?!). Holy crap, was I shocked to see my face on the top 10 collage! I think the reason I’ve been successful is because I am passionate about it. I am obsessed with home fragrance, wax warming, candles, etc, and honestly… passion is kind of contagious. You have to love what you do to be successful, and I do!
FOUR.
Donut Quest 2020 continues tomorrow and I am very excited. We’re going to Sips for fall drinks (for Caleb and me) and coffee (for Jerry… I don’t drink coffee), and picking up donuts from a place we haven’t tried yet (Dukes). Then we’re also getting donuts from a local place that I like called Green Acres, so we can taste test and compare. Denise, my DQ2020 buddy is coming over tomorrow to help with the scientific testing again LOL.
FIVE.
I wanted to share some milestones for the kids lately! Holden is now “blowing kisses” which is adorable. He’s also starting in Early Intervention soon for Speech Therapy. I wasn’t worried about his speech because Caleb was also in EI and didn’t talk until he was 3.5, but the doctor was really pushing it at his 2 year check up a couple of weeks ago. Holden really only says "hi," "bye," and "chee" when he’s posing for a picture. So anyway, we are starting the process for him now.
As for Caleb, some of you may already know about all of our poop potty training struggles. He’s been “pee trained” for quite awhile, but not quite poop trained, no matter what we tried. Well, it finally clicked, and he hasn’t had a poop accident in OVER a month, so I think we can officially say he is FINALLY fully potty trained. If I have learned anything from the 3 year potty training roller coaster we have been on, it’s that kids will do things when they are ready, not when the parents are. And they WILL do it, but they’ll do it on their terms and their time. Caleb has taught us this with every aspect of his life: he walked late, talked late, potty trained late, but now he is a brilliant little man who can literally read books with full on sentences.
Alright guys, that’ll about it do it for me this week! I hope you all have a great weekend and eat donuts or cider or something else festive!
That’s five for now — see you in the next chapter.
