Weekend Recap (10)

Ahh, another fall weekend come and gone. It was a pretty busy one, so hopefully next weekend will be a little less hectic! Here’s what we ended up doing.

Friday, I got home from work a little after 5:00. I should mention that my work bestie and I tried on some ColorStreet nail samples during the day at work and struggled with it. It was hilarious and kind of fun, and now I’m sort of obsessed with nail strips?! Ahh! Help me! Anyway, after work, Jerry and the kids were already home when I got there, and we had big plans that night with Caleb! But first, I had to close out my first online Pink Zebra party with my friend Jami! She stopped by and we spent about 30 – 40 minutes closing out her party and redeeming all of her host rewards. She earned so much stuff, and I’m excited for her to get it all! It took me a little longer than it should have, because I had only ever closed my own parties so far, and not one for someone else… but we muddled through!

Around 6:30, we were finally ready for our night out with Caleb. It was getting chilly and we were headed to a farm, so we bundled up, dropped Holden off to my mom’s, and then we were off! Powers Farm Market has an amazing bakery, as well as all your normal fall activities. However, the very best thing they have is a spooky nighttime hayride that’s like a haunted hayride but for kids. Instead of real actors, they use all lights and animatronics. They even have a skeleton band. Last year was the first time we took Caleb and he loved it so much that we went twice last year. When we told him we were going on Friday, he was extremely excited and kept asking about it all day.
Anyway, when we got there, our first stop was inside the shop. I love it in there, and they have a really amazing and vast selection of baked goods and donuts. Caleb and I picked several things out to take home (but not Jerry, he’s not a sweets guy), and then we bought our hayride tickets. We got in line for the ride, and waited for about 30 minutes. Jerry was freezing and Caleb was very impatient, but we finally got on. The ride goes through their woods, and is about 15 minutes long. It’s really cute and fun, and Caleb was just delighted once again. We got home around 9, and since Holden had already fallen asleep at my parent’s house, he stayed the night… his very first sleepover! Once we got home, we dug into our goodies, watched a little TV, then hit the hay.

Saturday morning Jerry had to go help his friend move again, who finally left for Florida this weekend. Jerry’s been helping him and his dad out a lot, in preparation for their move, and they finally left! Anyway, while Jerry was gone, Caleb played, and I spent the whole morning tidying and organizing my business supplies. Our dinging room table is finally (mostly) clear of my Pink Zebra stuff, and I got it sorted and stored a little better. Yay! Holden got dropped off around 10:30 and was very crabby. Apparently his first sleepover didn’t go so well, and he was up for several hours in the middle of the night. I was glad to put him down for an early nap and work on making some PZ blends and things for customers. I also set up an outdoor pick up bin, and had two ladies come pick up orders that night. I love my new pick up system!

Once Jerry got home a little before lunchtime, I went to run a couple of errands. I picked something up at Kohls, ran to my mom’s to borrow her rolling pin, and also grabbed a massive beek brisket baked potato from a BBQ shack I’d heard good things about lol. It was delicious and very filling, and I ate that while watching a little 20/20.
Jerry literally spent the rest of the afternoon cooking once I was home. He made so much delicious Mexican food and homemade tortillas. He also made homemade lemonade and brownies. Yes, I am very lucky that I have a hubby who cooks! He also invited my parents over for dinner, and they loved it. Holden also loved the pork and rice. Caleb… did not. I swear, that kid is the pickiest eater EVER.
After we ate, we hung out and chatted for a bit. Once my parents went home, we watched a little Celebrity Family Feud, then called it a night. I ended up with a horrible migraine and was up until around 3 am before finally falling asleep. It was not a good night.

Sunday morning was pretty boring. I started some laundry and watched more 20/20 while working on some Pink Zebra stuff. I ended up taking a nap when Holden did from about 1 – 3:30, since I had been up all night the previous night with a migraine. After the nap, I took a shower and then ran a few errands. I went to Wegmans to pick up a prescription, then had to pick up a couple of things at Aldi. Shortly after I got home, my parents stopped over so my dad could fill my nearly-flat tires with air. Sheesh. It’s driving MUCH better today. We had some grilled cheese for dinner while watching some Halloween Wars, and that was about it for Sunday!
