Hallmark Christmas Movies 2020 (2)

Well here I am, back for another round of Hallmark Christmas movie reviews. Last time, I had an astounding eight for you! This time, I only have three. Caleb and I have been watching a lot of The Great Christmas Light Fight, which means less time for my movies, but that’s okay! Here are the three movies I’ve watched since my last round of reviews.

One Royal Holiday

One Royal Holiday is the most Hallmark movie of all time. A royal family from Europe gets stranded in small town Connecticut during a winter storm. While there, they stay in a family owned bed and breakfast, and FOUR different romances ensue, including one between the handsome, single prince and a kindhearted, single nurse. Very sweet and cute. I liked the small town feeling, and I always love a good bed and breakfast with their beautiful sitting rooms, grand staircases, and custom drapery. It’s not Christmas without some kind of royal shenanigans from Hallmark! 3/5

USS Christmas

This was a cute one, and a little more unique than some of the other Hallmark movies! Maddie is a reporter who embarks on her first ever family “tiger cruise” with her sister, a naval officer. This is a special cruise where family members of officers can travel aboard a military ship to observe the daily operations and see firsthand what their military family members do. While on the cruise, she meets a handsome but grumpy officer, and also works to solve an old mystery of a love story that took place on a tiger cruise decades earlier. I actually learned something new with this one (never heard of tiger cruises before!), and the chemistry was believable. I also enjoyed that there were parallel love stories. Cute all the way around! 3/5

Christmas Tree Lane

Christmas Tree Lane is a street of small businesses in Denver. Meg owns a family run music shop that’s been around for generations. When an investment firm threatens to demolish the street and take over, she is determined to save her shop and the surrounding businesses. She’s also falling for a guy who turns out to be involved with the investment firm. The storyline itself was good, but the movie was not great, the main reason being the actress (Alicia Witt). She is, to me, pretty unlikable, and one of the worst in the Hallmark lineup. There was also zero real chemistry between her and the actor. I have no idea why, but she’s super unappealing in most of the movies she’s in. Might be her voice? Not sure. 2/5

I hope to be back soon with more 2020 Hallmark movies under my belt!
